  1. You're doing great, KO, and showing a high sense of self-awareness.
  2. I'm glad you're still posting on this side of 90 days, giblets. I think I'm still self-focused that I've not noticed whether those around me are productive or not. I can understand that temptation though.
  3. That's good, you're not resting on your laurels in quitting gaming and you're taking the next step in your development. Great work!
  4. Wow sounds like a good few days, away from technology, out in the open, just relaxing. Good for you!
  5. You're making wonderful progress, Mhyrion!
  6. I did that last week. Bought a bunch a junk food, ate it a couple days, regretted it, threw it out. But I learned that I didn't want a regular diet of junk food. ? Hang in there
  7. Nice view out your window, Shine. It'll be good to see your artwork when you start with your watercolors.
  8. I had to relapse many times until I was truly ready. As Moe says, think about how you relapsed and learn from it.
  9. Just keep working towards it. I relapsed many times and you learn from each one until you become truly ready to quit and detox.
  10. I can relate, Moe. When I tried quitting gaming before, my wife would always ask, "what's in it for me?". In our relationship, she was asking how my habit changes and personal development were going to improve our intimacy, which it wasn't short term As for porn/masturbation, I don't regret it either if I see a hot girl in real life or in TV or something and I relapse. That's a natural guy response. It's when you intentionally go looking for it that it becomes a problem, especially when it's some messed up stuff you're looking at. If I am going to fap, I just make sure I leave my phone somewhere else. ?
  11. That is wonderful, giblets. There were a lot of life lessons in the post. I can relate to the reigniting old passions, the exercise, the self-awareness. Even though I was only around for part of your journey, I am happy to see you at one milestone in your personal development and moving on to your next one. I hope that you keep in touch about your journey.
  12. I like what Cam had to say in a recent live session about school. Don't think about the assignment itself and how pointless it may seem. Rather, think about the skills you're developing by doing the assignment.
  13. Well, glad you were assertive with your mother. Just keep it in balance. I'm sure she means well for you. ?
  14. Day 39/90. Well I don't know what to say, guys. Your encouragement means so much. When you've isolated yourself for so long due to weight and games, every interaction becomes that much more special. Which is why I enjoy these forums. Thank you, @Moe Smith, @Tom2, @Hitaru, @Onlysoul. I did ok yesterday. I've been reading The Slight Edge where he talks about the occasional cheeseburger not killing you but over time, repeated ones will. And how we need to make the small decisions right each day and let them add up. I can tell I'm doing that with exercise and diet. I just need to find good ways to do this in other areas. My project is one possibility for mental engagement and creativity as I steadily apply more time to it. This next week I'll be allocating a little time every day (not just the weekends) to work on research for my possible historical podcast. Need something to work towards. I plan to stick around my wife's church until the hammer drops next month, just in case I guess. Then I'll move to another church where I can start over and be recognized for me, and not just as part of her family. I also won't get bothered by politics and too much dogma I guess. All in all, I still feel good. Just being patient. I was thinking today about being heavy. When I was massive (think 450 lbs on a 6 foot frame 13 yrs ago), my therapist called it a "200 lb backpack". I'm just about 300 now and on my way down but I still consider weight to be a "stifling blanket". How different will I be next year when this blanket is off? I hope to dance and be carefree. Gratitude 1. I still love the gym haha 2. Slept in my bed - small victories 3. Having friends text you and ask how.you're doing
  15. I wish you well, onlysoul.
  16. Great work, jeff, you're on the right track.
  17. Yeah this happens when you push hard. Just don't give in to the desire to give up. Some rest or a good night's sleep will help recharge your batteries and reinvigorate you.
  18. I agree with you Chris. I've sometimes had a morbid thought of death even since I was a young kid. Either you let that fear consume you and try to numb it or else try to give meaning to your life in the meantime and let whatever happen, happen. Congratulations.
  19. That is a beautiful meditation, Super. Very moving. I strive for that kind of integrity every day. With that level of self-awareness, I have little doubts about your ultimate success.
  20. I'm glad you had some quality time with your friends, Corvus. Without the gaming, you learn to value those relationships more.
  21. Wow, yes that does answer my question. Good job, ajaski! ?
  22. What activities have you used to fill the void?
  23. I bought the Slight Edge kindle version last week actually and am enjoying it so far. I do feel like my life is slowly accelerating in a positive way. I do feel bad about the example of someone saving and being a millionaire by 40, especially since I'm 41. ? You have a great heart, Hitaru. Keep giving yourself a chance.
  24. Mmm fried chicken and cookies sound good. Keep it up, Tom2!
