NEW VIDEO: The Dark Side of Gaming (Documentary)

Hi Everyone,

Since we had such a successful thread for celebrating January I've decided to make this a tradition. The rules are similar to last month. Write a brief paragraph or two, or even a statement about something you're proud of yourself doing last month or a milestone you reached!

I'm celebrating reaching 71 weeks straight without playing video games. I'm also celebrating the fact that I found a book series I enjoyed so deeply that it left a strong impact on my life. It's the first time I've read a book series in 18 years and the first book I've read in over a year.

71 weeks is huge! Congrats!

I think my biggest celebrations for February are starting my 90-day detox and giving it a real go this time, and moving into my new flat in Thailand. Not everything is exactly how I want it to be, but it's a starting point, and represents how far things have come in the last year!

That's fantastic. Getting back on track is great and the reduction of stress after finishing a move is huge as well. This should propel you to great heights.

I successfully moved into a new flat. I improved my exercise routine to be more challenging. I doubled reps on every stretching exercise and added the gym-ball for stretching my back.

I need to study more why I get stomach pains. One of the reasons is when I’m late- I start to get anxious and it immediately tenses my stomach muscles.

You could have ibs and need to see if you should change your diet during stressful periods. I had to do that. Drinking water helped as well. Good job with the move.

Congratulations on the achievements everyone! 😁

For me February was a transition month. Moving through a process and from the darkness of the tunnel towards that pin prick of light.

I reached my own personal milestone of 1 month off gaming, finally got a pay rise should have come last year and started looking for new jobs again. The lump sum I got helped me pay off my overdraft and have a bit of a buffer on my finances and it's nice to know I have more income going forward.

I had a job interview that ultimately ended in rejection but was an important step in developing my confidence and some more strategies for getting out into the market again.

I also started to let go of feeling that all my spare time had to be channeled into running and started writing much more frequently, paying more attention to my mind and working on that relationship. Doing yoga and core strength work more consistently has helped deal with this mini break and develop more focus. I'd like to keep that going for as long as possible.

If I had to summarise February, it was when I started to let go of making all my decisions based on an expected outcome, realising there are very few instant rewards for doing things in the real world and made more connections with the process of learning/training.

Transitioning is always tough, but you'll start to really appreciate the rewards over time. I think you're on the right path. Good luck with the job search.

I keep on going out quite frequently and maintaining/creating new relationships. I also got some return on my attempts to further my English-teaching business. Life's good.

Signing off with life's good is a great feeling. Glad the business has started brightly.

I feel like I am constantly in transition mode. The one thing, I am probably proud of the most is that I am going to the lectures, which is hard for me. I am also more invested in working out than before. Gives me a good feeling. I am also proud that despite some struggles and relapses in certain areas, I am still going. Still committed. But overall, I feel that I am not there yet.

This kinda sums up, where I would like to be. But it is so hard for me. xD

February is such a difficult month for me... my friend passes on from cancer and I was ill at least twice. None of which came from covid19. I suffered from respiratory issues and they were very mild. Nothing too serious... The good news: I finally resumed Left Behind with book 14 called Armageddon! I can't wait to finish before yet another Super Tuesday near now (my state is participating in the primaries this upcoming week). I survived the novelization of Frozen 2 and Resurrected Light combined. But... I am not sure what happened earlier since I don't remember anything else this past month. Correction: I did a bit of Face-to-Face Volume 2 from the last several pages of the preface up until the end of chapter 2. Quick reads included Squirrels Leap, Squirrels Sleep (recommended for grades K-3), a small 20+-page biography of Jim Henson (recommended for ages 8-11), and the Seattle Walk Report (y'know for kids since it is dumbed down enough to be aimed at elementary schoolers who were interested in walking adventures and nothing's too complex like Seattle in real life where the big bad city was run by "corporate" Democrat Socialists that spawned the homeless in the disguise as criminals and the insane minded for some). And I almost forgot to tell you something: I finished my sugar detox and started another one.
