lilX
How can we help  The forum and the Respawn program was super helpful. Edit: Nvm internet browsing and mindless news reading 2 hours combined today. I am working on my application form registering to be a professional engineer and it looks like I will need to write about 10 000 words to adequately answer all the questions in the form. By far the longest writing that I will ever finish - this feels overwhelming but I just got to take it 1 bit at a time. Was learning Chinese since Sunday. At around 20 characters now. Goal is to learn a little bit of Chinese before bedtime every night. Started reading The Slight Edge today by Jeff Olson. Will comment about it when I finish the book. Edited July 6, 2016 by LilChenChen

lilX
I work for my dad and he let me take a few days off doing projects to register to become a professional engineer. I find this to be quite challenging because it is a lot of technical writing and the stakes are kinda high. Just powering through it now. My goal for today is to work hard and become very focused. Good luck everyone! Edit: New daily: read and comment on 3 other journals or forum posts, but no more than 3. Good posture is very underrated. Edit: So I submitted a 2000 words answer to one of the 35 questions that I have to answer online to become a professional engineer, and I got the following error message: Answer needs to be a maximum 1200 characters. ಠ_ಠMoonshot Goal: I want to be able to jump to the basketball hoop and hang on it. I know that there are maybe 2 or 3 people my height that can "kinda dunk" a basketball, but they started training since they are a young age. I am 28 and I just started consistently weight training for a few months. I will probably physically peak in 5 years and I just don't see myself dunking a ball by then without something crazy like steroids lol.  Long Term Goal:  I want to touch the rim in 5 years. I want to touch the net within 6 months. If I touch the net I will make a video of it  so excited! Short Term Goal: zero internet browsing or other time wasting activities for the rest of the day.  Day 19Daily: Workout: Healthy Eating: 7.1/10 Hygiene: 7.5/10Mindful: 3.3/10Guided Meditation/Yoga: 10 minutesJournal: donePosture: 3.4/10Sleep: 11pmwake: 9amread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 3/3 To Quit: Caffeine: 0Gaming: 0Internet Browsing: 7 minutesMindless News Reading: 0Porn watching: 0 Edited July 8, 2016 by LilChenChen

lilX
Day 22 (11:19am)I really spend way too much time on the internet yesterday. It's still better than in the past, when I would waste the entire weekend. I think I just need to make a habit of starting work or study as soon as I get to the computer, and just keep engaging myself with that activity or other productive activities to keep myself from browsing the internet. Browsing the internet is like, literally 1 click away. I also need to work on my mindful/focus and guided meditation more consistently. I need to be more hard on myself. I was browsing the internet yesterday on guys in relationships watching porn. I didn't know it could be so damaging to relationships! On hindsight I'm pretty glad that my gf doesn't seem to mind and I made the decision to quit watching porn myself along with gaming.  Daily: Workout: Healthy Eating:6.4/10 Hygiene: 8/10Mindful/focus: 3.3/10Guided Meditation/Yoga: 10 minutesJournal: Posture: 2.7/10Sleep: 10:00pmwake: 9amread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 2/3 To Quit: Caffeine: 0Gaming: 0Internet Browsing: 0Mindless News Reading: 0Porn watching: 0 Edited July 11, 2016 by LilChenChen

lilX
Your daily and quit list is very sleek! Keep strong.Greetings, Piotr.Thanks.    Lately I've been reading the Power of Habit and The Slight Edge. The Slight Edge motivates you to develop positive habits in multiple areas of life without setting you up for unrealistic expectation. I definitely recommend it to game quitters. For the next few days I will focus on building my meditation habit, posture, and focus. I will also replace the craving to browse the internet or news with writing on a journal. Stay strong guys! Day 25 Daily: Workout: 15 minutesHealthy Eating: 7.5/10 Hygiene: 5/10Mindful/focus: 3.3/10Yoga/sitting meditation: 10 minutesJournal: donePosture: 2.6/10Sleep: N/Awake: N/Aread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 3/3 To Quit: Caffeine: 0Gaming: 0Internet Browsing: 10 minutesMindless News Reading: 15 minutesPorn watching: 0 Edited July 13, 2016 by LilChenChen

lilX
Happy to hear you're enjoying The Slight Edge! Thanks for the book recommendation!  Dude, I'm reading the Slight Edge right now too, and I can say it's sooo profound. In which aspects you're gonna use this philosophy?Greetings, Mad Pharmacist.Awesome! I like how he tells you to expect improvement after long periods of consistency, and to continue the positive habits even when you are seeing success. You can always reach more success if you just continue working on your daily habits. That's something that I never thought about and I completely agree. Many of the things I am already doing right now, and the book reinforces what I am doingSome new things I'm implementing: 1. act of kindness each day2. meditate daily3. journal for 2 minutes a day about one positive experience. I'm still reading the book. I will summarize and post the summary when I'm done.  Day 26Daily: Workout: 35 minutesHealthy Eating: 7.8/10 Hygiene: 6/10Mindful/focus: 3.2/10Yoga/sitting meditation: 1 minutesJournal: donePosture: 3/10Sleep: N/Awake: N/Aread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 2/3Act of kindness: done  To Quit: Caffeine: 0Gaming: 0Internet Browsing: 2 minutesMindless News Reading: 5 minutesPorn watching: 0 Edited July 14, 2016 by LilChenChen
lilX
I really have a problem with thinking too much. It always takes me a while to fall asleep. Last night it took me 6 hours. There is almost always a story playing in my head and I have a hard time shutting down and relaxing. In the good news I am a lot more motivated and interested in doing day to day activities. And I have completed my preparations for proposing to my GF, which will happen later this september. Day 27Daily: Workout: Healthy Eating: 7/10 Hygiene: 5/10Mindful/focus: 3/10Yoga/sitting meditation: 3 minutesJournal: Posture: 3/10Sleep: 9pmwake: 9:30amread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 0/3Act of kindness: done  To Quit: Caffeine: green tea protein shake, lemon teaGaming: 0Internet Browsing: 70 minutesMindless News Reading: 1 minutesPorn watching: 0Day 28 8:19pmDaily: Workout: 60 minutesHealthy Eating: 6.410 Hygiene: 6.5/10Mindful/focus: 2.8/10Yoga/sitting meditation: 4 minutesJournal: donePosture: 3/10Sleep: N/Awake: N/Aread/comment on maximum 3 other journals: 0/3Act of kindness: done  To Quit: Caffeine: 0Gaming: 0Internet Browsing: 2 minutesMindless News Reading: 15 minutesPorn watching: 0 Edited Wednesday at 5:18 P
Mad Pharmacist
Dude, I had the same problem two days ago - thinking too much for a long period of time. The best way to deal with it is to schedule breaks during your mental type of work (I use at least 10 minutes of break after 50 minutes of work)It's called "changing channels", so all you need to do during break is to switch type of energy you used. If you've been working mentally, then do a bit of physical exercises or even dance a bit for these 10 minutes! This will give you refresh in your mind and more energy to take actions! For me it works, try it and tell me if it works for you too!Greetings, Mad Pharmacist
