  1. Great idea to keep your achievements right here. It's challenging to at least repeat what you did yesterday and even do more!
  2. Hey Alex! I see that you suddenly broke your success streak! It's something that you can avoid and I'll give you advice what to do if a situation like that would happen. For every goal you've set, you should also set an emergency goal. What does it mean? Sometimes we have tough days in our life and we can't do first goal we wanted to do. For you it was running. After that as you mentioned, most of the day or even the entire day can collapse. So, if you have seriously difficult day, you shouldn't give up on your objectives! Just set an emergency goal! I'll give you an example: My goal is to write 750 words each day, however sometimes I don't have enought time to do it in the morning, so I have an emergency goal to open website where I write my morning pages and write at least 100 words. Or I have to study for at least 2 hours each days. But sometimes my mind just want to explode, so what's my emergency goal in case of emergency? To study for at least 5 minutes every 3 most important subjects on my semester (chemistry, botanics, anatomy). And by doing that I'm still in game! By doing emergency goal, I'm not loosing streak, but also not gaining it! It just get stuck for one difficult day and then I can move forward with my streak days again! Tell me what do you think about it Alex, because I've recently heard about this method and I'm implementing it into my life right now.
  3. Whoa, that look's almost like a glass cup! I don't know how you're able to do this, but keep practicing and you'll get what you want!
  4. Keep moving forward amigo! And this algorythm about achieving goals is something you should use too! It's freaking awesome and works for me well, so just give it a try!
  5. Happy birthday Piotr! I know it was yesterday, but still, it's a reason to be happy! Feeling peaceful is something I'm really missing right now so be happy that you can feel calmness! Not everyone can!
  6. Hey Nick! I'm reading your journal and I can say it's a great journey you've experienced! It's only 10 days to finished detox, however be aware after finishing detox: in most cases people relapses after a couple of weeks of finishing detox, just like I did. By the way, drinking energy drinks isn't too good for your health at all. If you want to avoid palpitations, you can even substitute energy drinks with coffee and this should help a bit. That's because dose of caffeine in energy drink is couple of times higher than in normal coffee. Greetings, The Pharmacist.
  7. Hey, I can recommend for you Time Meter app. It works for me well and I see progress of how much time I spend on any activity I want.
  8. Hello, Marcin! Nice to see another countryman on forum! If you want to improve your life quality you should try writing a daily journal. It helps focus on what's important for you each day. Greetings, The Pharmacist.
  9. Hello Paulo! You have chosen the right activity to replace it with gaming. It's seriously important at the beginning and thanks to your object (3D glass cup) you have the great feeling of challenge. Good job! To be even more consistent, add some more needs you were fulfilling in games like: Constant measurable growth - you can give here a picture of your work every entryTemporary escape - it's something you can "escape" from your duties and chores. It should be something relaxing. For me it's drawing, but you should find your own! Can't wait to see your next entries! Greetings, The Pharmacist
  10. The beginning is always difficult. However, with each day without playing video games you'll feel better. Just trust me, I experienced that so you're gonna experience that too!
  11. Amazing article! Seems like we the Gamequitters didn't realize that we are already playing video game called life - and what we've been doing before was playing silly minigames.
  12. Greeting from The Pharmacist! I see you're doing great sharing thoughts here just like talking. You have similar goal to me right now - being game free for the entire lifespan. Great to see a person with the same mindset! To go outside more often on the weekend and be more social, find any events in your town on the Internet and go to them, it can be even art exhibition to meet new people and become more out-going.
  13. Greeting from The Pharmacist! It's great to see you on the forum Duncan! I see that you did a lot of progress during last 5 days and the feeling of emptiness will just wear off after some time. Just continue what you're wrighting and be consistent. That's the best you can do right now. Can't wait to see your next entries!
  14. Greetings from The Pharmacist! That's amazing to see how The Gamequitters is growing each day. You're going to have great journey during 90 days and all you have to do is to enjoy it. Can't wait to see your next entries!
  15. I catched up a bit with your journal and I see that you did a great progress! You're now not fighting for surviving without games, but you're fighting for thriving and get your best from life! Excellent work and keep fighting like that (even literally, as you have shown us on the photo taken during fencing) I've heard yesterday from @Piotr that cravings can always come to us, but we can just silence them. And that's probably because we spent so much time on games in our lives, that someone should clear our memory to forget about them. The best way to deal with it is to accept it. And to improve your leadership skill and public speaking I recommend Toastmasters club. You can go for free and I bet that there is more then 1 club in Auckland. Greetings, The Pharmacist.
  16. I Agree with @AlexTheGrape. The best sentence with build up conversation skills and confidence is: "fake it 'till you make it". So do what you're supposed to do to improve your social skills and one day you"ll obtain it. It's all about systematic progress.
  17. Well Piotr, it looks like we're dealing with the same thing right now. And it's not a neurosis obviously. It's just a moment of the day after finished courses/work/chores when we finally have our free time. And we can do whatever we want from it. But what we do when we don't have anything planned? Well, we're getting for something familiar for us, browsing internet for instance or even YT party for couple of ours. That's ok if it happened, it's a great feedback for you just like my previous relapse for me. However, only a fool repeats the same mistake over and over. I'll tell you I'm dealing with this whole procrastination after finished work on anything. The day before in the evening before I go to bed I'm writing down a plan for the next day for the whole day. It should be precised on what you're going to do approximately in what time. So first, I divide my agenda into 3 columns. First is the number of activity in chronological order. Then the approximate time I'm going to do this and then the name of activity. That's especially works for me when I have to study for a long time (like today haha) and I can schedule my time for not only the subject I'm going to study but even a specific section I'm going to study. However, the most difficult is to do it with out free time to relax, but not to procrastinate. So, first I'm writing down all the activities that brings me some relaxation, like playing guitar, drawing, dancing, reading a book, exercising etc. Then I decided in which order I'm gonna do it and then at what time approximately. Works for me very well, I'm doing that for about 3,5 year, however when I stop planning or I'm not sticking to it, then I have relapses or procrastination times.
  18. Good job on your journey! Remember that the journey of thousand miles begins with a single step. And, remember that you can do this. Just like you controlled yourself while everyone else in the classroom were playing. Keep doing like that!
  19. You're getting more game free each day! And from today, you are getting more fap free each day! Great job! By the way, I'm really interested about your result with double-tasking. That could be a great lesson for all of us. Ah, and by the way 2 I didn't notice that you're taciturn. Come on! You are as talkative as The Pharmacist! Haha
  20. Awesome to see you're moving forward Piotr! Just like we spoke yesterday. Time to thrive!
  21. Thinking can be hard. But even though you're doing and inspiring future me to stay away from games and be more cautious. Good job!
  22. Interesting. The whole project is a really great idea, but to gain completely recalibrated brain, they should stay for 90 days. However the government gives 300$ for each DAY of this rehab for each boy. To compare it, I need about 300$ to survive and get everything I need to live in Poland for a MONTH. That's a huge difference, isn't it? But if this kind of rehab have a great deal of game quitters, then it's really worth it.
  23. Well, José, I'm just giving you the brutal truth right in your face. Just be aware of it. Then the choice is yours what to do.
  24. Sure, here you are with indoor activities: 1)Cooking, baking etc. 2)Reading every book or listening to audiobook! 3)Listening to good music! Classical could also be great to lower our stress level! 4)Drawing can be also good, especially if you're good at it 5)Origami is freakin' awesome! I also love it. Be careful while using tutorials on YT to not fall into "Youtube Party" 6)Playing music instrument! Never played before? Well, try it! It's worth it! 7)Call a family member/friend - it really works if you feel lonely and anxious. 8)Exercising! You don't need to go to gym or even outsite to be in good shape 9)learning/studying anything you desire! 10)Watching good movie! I can recommend to you Vanilla Sky for a good start. 11)Also watching documentaries could be as educating as books! 12)Talking with yourself is the best way to know yourself better. Worth trying, especially if you're home alone!
  25. Greetings from Mad Pharmacist! What can I recommend you to your confidence issues? 1) Each day do at least 1 things you're scared of to do (it could be saying "Hello" to stranger while passing by) 2) Join Toastmasters! Not only will you become more confidence on stage, but also you'll gain some "skill points" (just like in game ) in your leadership!
