  1. Woohoo! We've got another 90 day milestone! Are you cool if I duplicate this post and add it to the 90 day milestone thread?
  2. ? ?I talk about this in my new video coming out tomorrow
  3. Still working on the preview function. It's not in the admin panel so not sure what else I can do - I've contacted support for help.
  4. And of course, just because you can play games doesn't mean you need to. You can have other priorities and that's ok.
  5. Awesome idea and great first post to kick it off! Love this.
  6. Similar to this journal, when it comes to a blog (or any habit really) it's important to set a specific time/schedule for it. For example, with my YouTube channel I chose 1 video each week, to go out on Monday. I chose Monday because that was the day my first video went out so I figured I'd stick with that. Now I have 34+ videos, almost 800 subscribers and 25,000+ views. But it all started with 1 video on a monday, and then another, and then another. In July I spent a lot of time promoting the channel and growing the audience, and I'll do more of that in October again. The same can work with your blog. Pick a day and publish something, anything on that day. A good book to check out would be Write, Publish, Repeat.
  7. Good job getting out of the house! That's a big key for me, the less I'm in my house the less I naturally feel a lower motivation and inclined to just lay in bed. If you haven't seen this video on how to get out of a funk, it will help. Your grammar is very good! Excited to see your writing continue to progress.
  8. That's a solid friend man! Congrats on 86 days as well, huge accomplishment to be proud of! I believe we are all doing the best with what we've got and that really speaks to the power of learning more about why we do what we do and how this empowers us with the leverage necessary to influence our actions in the future. For social situations, I've shared a few resources here. As per your last question, it just comes down to being firm in your boundaries. When you're in a group setting and they are persistent, I have no problem removing myself from the situation as required.
  9. Even though you can't always afford the products and courses, just being surrounded by that quality of thinking is key. I'm always listening to podcasts, audiobooks, webinars. The more I can hear quality information, the better.
  10. ?It's amazing how much of an impact a few quality habits every day can make. Imagine if everyone was executing this kind of mindfulness every day. I'll keep you posted. Excited to put together a few more case studies for people to follow.
  11. Awesome! Keep reading good books, they've been one of the game changers for me.
  12. Love seeing another journal up here! I believe the way we do something is the way we do everything... so I imagine for you part of this experience to engage and participate will also translate more to how you show up every day in your life. Most people just lurk and sit on the sidelines not just on forums but in LIFE. This is a turning point for you to start engaging in creating the experience you want to create for yourself in the world. It's awesome! Starting with the 90 day detox is the right course of action. 90 days is enough time for you to learn a lot about yourself, and at the end you'll be better equipped to make that decision for yourself. Try meetups.com to find a book club or similar fantasy-themed group. I'm sure you can find one in the SD area.
  13. Awesome! I'll be in SD next week for a week or two. Have a ton of friends that live in Encinitas so I'm just coming to visit/spend time with them.
  14. Congrats on 90 days man! In the next few weeks it could be cool to put together a case study on your journey so far. I think it's a great example of simple changes leading to powerful results. The truth is, there hasn't been anything fancy about your success... you followed the recommended steps, had the right attitude (you actually wanted to move on for the right reasons) and took action daily. Voila!
  15. If it goes through I'll definitely share some thoughts!
  16. Hey Travis! Great to have you join us here. Which part of California are you in? I'm traveling through California in October.
  17. Hey! Thanks for joining us here, it's great to have you! It seems you and Joe (wookieshark) have some things in common with inspiration coming from a newborn daughter. I'm a fan of Psycho Cybernetics as well and MJ DeMarco's work. Great books and resources to have. We've got your back so let us know if we can help at all.
  18. I did send her dates, fyi. I personally don't use Tinder, mostly because when I was using it I was coming from a place of lack. The type of attitude of: "I don't have a girlfriend and my life is incomplete without her." So I focused on my own mission as a man and I met women sporadically, eventually a few years later meeting my current girlfriend. The key for me to meet more people is to be in more social places. Studying in coffee shops, etc. Right now I'm in the lobby of Ace Hotel in NYC at a table with 12 other people who are all working away. Half are girls. I can easily start a conversation and see where it goes, and over time this strategy had me meet a ton of cool people, friends, lovers, etc. If you haven't read The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida, that would be a good one right now.
  19. I'm glad you enjoy the color scheme! I've been redesigning the main gamequitters.com site all week too! Excited to follow your journal. Writing is a good way to clarify your thoughts.
  20. ?Yes! Quitting games was certainly a catalyst for me in this as well.
  21. Hey Thomas! I enjoyed reading about your day(s). Yes, definitely try and organize an event with your friends outside of games. Sometimes you game just because that's the only way you know how to relate to your friends (and they know how to relate to you.) Keep working at it. All of this stuff is going to evolve over time as you learn more and more about yourself. Just keep working at it.
  22. Have you done a 10-day silent retreat before? I'm on the waiting list for one in October.
