hemonkey Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 This time I relapsed again and got bad at time management. I feel like it's not working and want to give up. I don't know if I am just not going to finish my detox or if that I really can do it.
BooksandTrees Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 It took me almost 10 years to fully quit gaming after recognizing it was bad for me personally. Never give up if you feel it's correct to quit. Keep researching yourself and understanding why you relapse. Then apply those lessons again.
codepants Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Relapse is a normal part of recovery. For alcohol addiction somewhere between 40-60% of users relapse. You have no reason to be ashamed. I can understand why it might feel like failure or that your recovery has gone backwards, why things might seem hopeless. Take your time in honoring those feelings. When you're ready, you can learn from this, and do it better next time.
BornAgain40 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 It took me at least 8 attempts to quit smoking, and as for gaming there have been some failed attempts so far. I keep trying.
