  1. Sometimes your withdrawal symptoms come and ago. Like my anxiety...some days I'm fine, somedays it ambushes me. Just keep pushing through it!
  2. I know how sad that post was to write. I have many fond memories if Bioshock Infinite. What a story, what a world. And Skyrim, Mass Effect, Witcher, Dragon Age. It's like saying goodbye to old friends. You are powerful, Skaliq, for pushing past this. ?
  3. Day 52/90. So my health screening at work wasn't too bad. If my weight is right, I've lost many more pounds last week. My blood pressure is good though my cholesterol was slightly off and my sugar was a little high. I think the sugar was high because of my relapse. Sometimes I get nervous because I eat more fruit and drink more milk as part of my changes. But surely that has to be better for me than the lousy fast food and soda I was gorging on? Sigh...analysis paralysis. I have to watch that. Other than that, I'm hanging in there. My arms feel like jello as I graduated to the 20 lb dumbbells yesterday. I was proud of that. Gratitude 1. Upped my weights at the gym 2. Did my health screening and know I have more work to do 3. I have encouraging friends to talk to
  4. Weekends can be tough, especially if you have a lot of free time. Meditation will help and so will having plenty to do.
  5. Great job avoiding the relapse. That can be so tough!
  6. I struggle with relapsing with pmo while still holding on with video games. They influence each other, but a relapse doesn't necessarily mean you're not serious about quitting. Just keep learning from it and pushing ahead.
  7. You're doing great....just keep at it. Think more about who you want to be. Cam always talks about having a vision of yourself, where you want to be in a few years, what are your dreams? Then your detox will be a means to.achieve them.
  8. Like you said, you're learning. That doesn't make you stupid....you're just acquiring more knowledge about yourself. Give yourself credit. ?
  9. That's awesome, Vlad. I can relate to how attached you can be to your fames. I was a PC gamer myself, so my big moments were deleting save game files or the Steam software. It's like cutting off a limb, a part of you. But we have to make the room so something new will grow in its place. You're really strong to do what you did. ?
  10. I just finished it at work today. It was a great story and now I can put a voice to your posts! ? I really enjoyed the list of tips. I will be working on my values list tonight.
  11. Over time, you'll forge memories unrelated to gaming. But like they say, develop and organize a daily routine to occupy your mind and keep you busy. You'll do it, Tux! ?
  12. I never really had competition in gaming as I typically played single player RPGs and historical strategy games. For me it was about accomplishment (I was the hero) and storyline. I miss these sometimes but I have found accomplishment gradually in my own self development and stories in books and movies. I imagine it'll be similar with you and competition.
  13. Break the cleaning up into small jobs. I subdivide it by room and then by "tables, floors, etc." for each room. Then just do one job a day. You can put this on a schedule too for maintenance. Then cleaning doesn't seem so overwhelming.
  14. I second Vlad. Working out helps give me energy, gives me self-confidence that I'm doing something positive, and it burns off anxiety. And this is a beginner couch potato talking here. ?
  15. Well, at least if you're keeping busy and focusing on work, as hectic as it gets, you have no time for bad habits. I notice I have my best success when I have enough constructive things to do. Yes, the fear is just fear of the unknown. Just face it and push through it. You're doing great, Vlad.
  16. Thanks, @Hitaru and @giblets! No try! Just do...*growl* ? Day 51/90. We have general health screenings at work today and I signed up. You get your weight and some bloodwork. Usually I get nervous because the nurse scolds me for obesity, diabetes, etc. This is the first time I actually look forward to it hehe. The fasting stinks though. I read The Slight Edge chapter on goal setting and was working on it last night, with naming the goal, what that means, what the deadline is, and my plan. So I set up goals for: 1. Health (goal weight, gym) 2. Financial (better income, savings) 3. History (podcast, degree) 4. Social (dating, organizations) 5. Spiritual (church, contemplation). I'd worked on this a little before but it was nice fully fleshing them out and giving me targets to work towards. Gratitude 1. I'm able to save money by not eating out or buying games 2. I just love wearing smaller clothes 3. I live in an air conditioned condo
  17. Sounds like you kept really busy, ajask. That always helps! Yeah, journal every day and don't worry about writing a book!
  18. You're still on track, KO. Thumbs up. General weightlifting question. Do I need to ever consider doing bench presses? I do the chest press machine at the gym and pushups at home. I'm not looking to be a massive lifter dude, just some nice muscle development as I lose weight? Is what I'm doing enough? Figured you might know based on your journal. ?
  19. Hah tub of lard?! I dream of getting to 230 lbs and I'm 6 foot even. But I know what you mean. It's a sad constricted feeling that you just want to break out of. I just broke under 300 lbs so you better get moving, Vlad. Don't let me catch up to you! ?
  20. You're doing great, jess. Don't sell yourself short! ?
  21. Ashley, welcome back! Glad to see you again ?
  22. I never had that social element with gaming since I primarily played multiplayer. But I can see how that can be a temptation to relapse. Good job thinking it through and staying away!
  23. Wow, Tom2, I'm used to you writing 2 sentences haha. I see you had a lot on your heart today. I think it's good to have several activites to mix and match and keep you from getting bored
  24. Good luck, George! We're here to help and support you.
