Hi,

I've been lurking on these forums for a few months now and have made a couple of half hearted attempts to quit gaming. MMO's are my addiction :( . When I think about the amount of hours that I have wasted playing them, I just feel really disappointed with myself. Anyway I am not big with words so probably won't post much, but I will keep checking in regularly just to help with support. I find the member stories posted on here to be very inspirational, so thank you all for your diaries and blogs, they are very helpful.

Last day of 2016 today, I played Lord of the Rings Online this morning, just going to uninstall now and settle on in for a 3 month detox. The beginning of a new year seems like a great time to fully commit to this detox. My aim will be not to return to gaming at all, even casually as I doubt that I could play casually. I plan to use my newly found free time to get fit again - sort of a double new years resolution here - and also to dig back into my research topics that I studied before gaming.

Nice to meet you all and thanks for reading :)

Hi. What are your research topics about?

hi, I was researching acoustics and vibration, in particular, active control of sound and vibration and also sound reflected off different surfaces.
