  1. We shouldn't add timers to our activities in search of perfection. For example, we shouldn't read in order to achieve perfection, we should read because we are passionate about those letters and because we are interested in that specific material; perfection is the result of our time spent reading! Same thing applies for drawing, music, etc. We must find the things that we are passionate about, and follow those roads. Otherwise, if we do something just for the fame and money, we will always have a " meh " in our minds, we will always complain and try to shorten, avoid the very things that we are doing. You play games because you love what you are doing, you don't usually count the time, you don't say " i will play 20 minutes " because you put passion into it. Same with a true hobby; you lose track of time, and without knowing it: you become better and better.
  2. Days 4, 5 - some small game cravings, triggered by ads - need to fix my desire of watching random youtube crap - started to adjust my sleeping patterns - started doing sport again, yoga streching along with home exercises. 1 hour a day - increased my daily time outside up to 2 hours - added meditation before bedtime. 30 minutes ____ - i feel like i'm starting to regain my sick humour and confidence This is all for days 4 and 5
  3. You need a clear mind and motivation. Easy to say, right? RIGHT!? :)) Clear mind can be achieved by practicing regular sport, meditation, music ( music not garbage that makes you lose focus and smash your head in a drunken party ), breathing exercises.. anything that can give you tonus and relaxation. Motivation. you get this from reading, inspirational speeches, activities..
  4. Hello Piotr, do you have a link to your website? Thanks!
  5. Days 2, 3 - i had multiple game cravings, the desire to reinstall some games and play. I mention that this desire was mainly triggered by various ads - i cleaned my room from scratch ( every corner and hole that you can think of I live in a cave. lol ) - made time to stay outside in fresh air and sunlight; at least 1 hour a day - started drawing various shit so that i have more toilet paper - alot of music and some documentaries - tried to find some good chatrooms to socialise and talk, but too many sexual discussions, too many muscles and dick pics. This is all for days 2 and 3
  6. Funny that Hearthstone was also the game that got me. Disenchanted all, crafted, disenchanted until i lost everything. After 3 hours an add comes up NEW EXPANSION IS IN THE MAKING ( WotOG )lol Second day i opened a customer support ticket saying that i want an account restore! Thankfully they replied that it cannot be done because they didnt implemented any restore mechanism. In 3 weeks reinstalled all and started from scratch. Was really hard for me to quit since i was a legend ( rank ) player, with 3 golden hero portraits and closed beta rewards. But now i have the willpower and hopefully the aid of this forum to forget everything.
  7. This is the stone that will drag you back into the well.
  8. Willpower! Do changes in your life: alimentation, sports, running, reading, quitting smoking, quitting drinking and so on.. Your choice! I reccomend this short video for a starter: https://youtu.be/mgmVOuLgFB0
  9. Quitting games is similar to quitting smoking. There is no moderation! you can't smoke fewer and fewer until you eventually stop, this will only agravate your nicotine cravings. Same with games: no games! no streams! no gaming articles! no posters and cds reminding you of games! Its like quitting porn, but having your room full of " Hustler " magazines and your computer's desktop " Barely Legal " touchable..
  10. I find these rules valuable, a guide for living a good and happy life. About Paracelsus, you can find more here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paracelsus 1. Improve your health. To do this we must breathe as often as possible, deep and rhythmically with well-filled lungs, outside or looking out a window. Drink in small sips every day two litres of water, eat lots of fruits and chew food as consistently as possible. Avoid alcohol, tobacco and medicine, unless for some reason you are subjected to severe treatment. Bathing daily is a habit you owe to your own dignity. 2. Banish from your spirit, despite the many reasons that may exist, any idea of pessimism, resentment, hatred, boredom, sadness, revenge and poverty. Run away from every opportunity to deal with people who are vicious, vile, murmuring, lazy, and gossipy; also avoid people who are vain or vulgar and of inferior natural baseness of understanding or whose topics of conversation are sensualist topics. The observance of this rule is of decisive importance: it’s about changing the spiritual texture of your soul. It is the only way to change your fate because it depends on our actions and thoughts. 3. Do as much good as possible. Aid any person that may be in need, but never have a weakness for anyone. You must take care of your own energy and avoid any form of sentimentalism. 4. Forget any offense, better yet, strive to think on the wellbeing of your greatest enemy. Your soul is a temple that must never be corrupted by hatred. We are all great beings that have been led by an inner voice, but this will not speak to you suddenly; it requires preparing for it over time, destroying the overlapping layers of old habits, thoughts and behaviours that way heavily on the your divine spirit, which is perfect but powerless because of the imperfect vehicle that you have provided it for its manifestation, lean meat. 5. Seek shelter where no-one can disturb you. Sit as comfortably as you can with eyes that are half shut and a blank mind. This fortifies the brain and the spirit energetically, and it will connect you with good influences. In this state of meditation and silence we usually come up with luminous ideas, capable of changing our entire existence. With time the problems that arise will be victoriously resolved by an inner voice that will guide you during those moments of silence, alone with your consciousness. That is the diamond which Socrates talks of. 6. You must be absolutely silent about your personal issues. Abstain yourself, as if you had taken a vow of silence, from telling others, even your closest friends and family, anything you think, hear, know, learn, suspect or discover. For a long time at least you must be a safe house or sealed garden. This is a rule of utmost importance. 7. Never fear men or what tomorrow might bring. Have a strong, clean soul and everything will turn out for the best. Never think of yourself as weak or alone because there are behind you powerful armies that you cannot conceive —even in your wildest dreams—. If you raise your spirit there will be no evil that can touch you. The only enemy who you must fear is yourself. Fear and distrust of the future are the dire mothers of failure and they bring disaster along with them. If you attentively study people who have good luck you will see that they intuitively observe a great part of these rules. It is true that many people who enjoy great wealth are not necessarily “good” in the strictest of senses, but they do possess many of the virtues mentioned. On the other hand, wealth is not synonymous of happiness. It can be one the factors that lead us to it because of the power it gives us to partake in grand and noble works; but truly lasting happiness is only achieved by following other paths, that is where the ancient Satan of legends will never rule, his name is Selfishness. Never complain of anything, control your senses, run both of humility and vanity. Humility will take your strength away and vanity is so toxic it is almost a deadly sin against the Holy Spirit.
  11. Hello and WELCOME! From my experience, i used games to fill a hole in my life ( emotional ). Now that i quited, that hole camed back; it needs to be covered up by something else. Affection, love, stability, who knows.. Back to your topic, i think that when you stoped gaming your uncovered your hole. Your case is not that bad.. I for example, played 18 h/ day and had days without sleep -like 60 hours in front of the computer screen ( eating, drinking at the pc, coffee and energizer ) this period lasted 3 years. 3 years of hardcore gaming ( 16-18 h / a day, everyday ), time wasted, health and financial problems, not to mention the friends I lost.
  12. Wrote this long ago when i was 19 on a poetry forum; At that time i was addicted to dota 1, took a break and wrote the following words inside a poetry contest.. didn't expected to receive an envelope at home lol! I will remove my real name for now until i feel safe enought to give it. Gray Future When i turn around To see All those days All those friends I remember all Like it was yesterday Now i look at the clock Yesterday is no more ! Huge concrete and steel Have trapped me in a solid dream I cant break out !
  13. I believe that our body is just a machine controled by the spirit. The character of an individual is influenced by the following factors: birthday ( the astrological/ planetary alignments of ones birth ), sex ( male brain is rational oriented, female brain is emotional oriented ), ereditary genes ( good and bad ones ) and most important the age of the spirit. The brain activity does influence our character but its the root of the problem. About the avatar now :). When i created the forum account i knew i had to let go of everything that reminded me of games ( gaming nicknames ), but at the same time i didn't felt like sharing my real name yet. So i tried an altruistic aproach; Terra - the planet we share. To reflect this name I was attracted by this statue of a Budha. As for my religion; im an orthodox christian but i look above the cup.
  14. Never let a video nor a person ( be it friend or foe ) to decide for you. You collect data and decide what is good or wrong. Each individual from the start of the Creation to this very present is different. People gather in groups - called friends - depending on their belief systems. What it works for someone might not work for you. Having the desire of coming back to the gaming chair is an indicator of one's will. Set a purpose in life, Who or What you want to be? And follow that road without seqrching for a map. Few years ago, your words were mine.
