  1. Do you use a foot pedal for transcriptions? or how does it works?
  2. Day 58 Yesterday had a slow morning. All the usual, lack of focus and slight cravings. iI got better in the afternoon. Went to the gym and had a good night sleep which definitly is making feel great this morning. Before going to sleep I thought about meditation or at least a self analysis about me and videogames. I related videogames with a very happy stage in my life. Also when I was lonely videogames would be my refugee. It would be a social activity as well. Thanks! I will be reading and applying it.
  3. Day 57 Lack of focus, didn't manage to get to the gym. I still imagine playing or creating tactics/strategies for the games. I'll do this at the evening then. Haha, good one, I will keep that in mind.
  4. Day 56 Thank you guys. These days have been like I would like to stay up to date with the game I was addicted to. I need to decide one of the following activities for the night. I have experience with the following and had positive results before: Reading Origami DrawingWritingCard games Not so much experience with the following: PodcastsYogaMeditationMagic
  5. Day 55 I been having some slight cravings specially after going to the gym and having dinner. Mostly around 8pm. Like I would like to relax either playing or watching streams. Nothing dangerous so far, but I have google MOBAS blogs and been watching chess games at youtube lately. Gotta avoid it. I need to keep the awareness up and the security up!.
  6. Thanks for the feedback! This feedback is spot on. It's like surrounding yourself with people who are trying to achieve the same as you. I personally don't mind; I just kinda wonder how come others don't mind since I'm generally ok with a number of things others don't seem to be, idk. We can talk about porn all day! I didn't mean to talk about the variety, lol. I ment it's negative effects and why I seem to always be preaching against it. That's NSFW meaning Not Safe For Work, save you a google search. I think the problem is porn and not so much fapping.
  7. I tell them video games are shit. Then again, I don't have many friends. I wonder how come. I don't know about the porn thing. I find it a little surprising how you guys just talk about it; isn't it kinda like making someone a part of your sex life, lol. You're basically creating a mental image of yourself -- not -- fapping, and by that you create at least a hint of a different, much more, uhm, involved picture. Maybe it's just me. Now that I think about at least in real life I have only talked with my girlfriend about it. In the forums I have no problem talking about it because I assume most gamers are/were avid porn watchers, but perhaps I'm making a mistake and just embarrassing people. I can stop talking about it in your journal if you'd like.
  8. I think this has too to a lot with being either and introvert or extrovert. For an introvert is tiring to socialize and for an extrovert is the opposite. However 10 hours would exhaust anyone, haha. Keep it up!
  9. Day 54 Today I woke up earlier than usual, let's have a great day! Saw 2 of Cam´s videos: Shame of being a a gamer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-s_Co_tTKIHere Cam mentions the main reasons we game like: being and outcast, social anxiety, stress and being competitive. Good video to reflect about yourself. Playing videogames on the weekends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orxIkAV4yEIAnswers how to handle videogames on the weekends, naturally for the 90 days detox is not allowed. It seems we coincide. Here in MéxicoI usually write my post during the morning. People will complain about everything. For example, I'll complain that you kinda look like JonTron on your new profile picture :^^^^^^^^^^^^^^). NOHOMO What are you talking about? I am JonTron.
  10. Not sure about you but I love autum and winter That's awesome, talk about knowing oneself. The rare times I tell other people that I no longer play videogames or watch porn is that -I can't handle videogames or porn but must people can- It does appear too friendly. It seems to me that he likes to focus mostly on the positive side and barely on the negative side. But then again, he must have good reasons for his approach. (Example: Quit video games and become succesful! vs Keep playing videogames and become a failure!)
  11. Good job Reno, keep it up! Gotta love asian culture
  12. We can noticed you are speaking from the heart. Welcome and I hope you start your program as soon as possible.
  13. Day 53 Woke up slightly late, did some errands and spent most of the day with my girlfriend. We watched a movie "A beautiful mind". Really enjoyed the movie. Don't really recall cravings. But I've noticed something. When I was younger I wanted to achieve greatness. Nowdays it seems like I try to convince myself that greatness in video games would had been just as rewarding, however this can my my addiction talking to me. My girlfriend encouraged me to continue writing on my personal blog.
  14. In Mexico we have a saying, "El que persevera, alcanza" Which could mean, "The one who perseveres, achieves"
  15. Day 52 Last night I thought about Vainglory ideas I posted in page 1 of my journal. It was mostly about creating content about Vainglory I even wrote down some of those ideas. Didn't quite feel like a craving but as excitement. But then it had me worried because I know I should focus on one thing at the time which is school. But perhaps I'm just lying to myself. Either way I still have 38 more days to go. In the morning I felt more relaxed and my mind more focused, with the Vainglory content as just one more idea from many I about creating or writing.
  16. Because talking about an addiction is usually uncomfortable. Having an addiction isn't something to be proud of. But you can be proud of accepting that you have a problem and taking steps to change it. It's important to realize that video games are the symptom of a deeper personal issue. Once you discover that issue is easier to explain it to someone else. In my case my problem is depression and the outlet was playing video games. However as you gain control of your addiction it will become easier to talk about it. Talking with people you trust and cares about you makes it easier as well.
  17. Day 51 Told my girlfriend I accomplished 50 days without porn and without videogames. Also while cleaning some bookmarks deleted some old porn links. I've been having trouble focusing on tasks, sometimes I don't apply Stayfocusd correctly and procastinate more than I want to. I'm enjoying sleeping early and rising early. Working out is helping me regain my posture. I need an activity for 8-9pm, I simply end listening to music, discord, forums, youtube or facebook. I have wondered if I will remain here after day 90. My first thought was to keep posting during one week after that. My second thought was to just post once a week like AA. But first things first, focus on today, focus on the detox. I noticed some negative posts about Cam's fundraising. After all money is always a sensitive topic. It reminded me about a Reddit post where people complained that he was selling his Respawn book to people who needs help. Should we complain about people who sell water as well? or what about doctors who won't stop another human being suffering without pay? I actually admire Cam's vision about being transparent with the finances related to GQ and his fundraising. In his fundraising he explains how much is for the FellowShip fee and how much for the flights and the camera. At Epic website one can read estimates of how the FellowShip money is used. I don't think it's needed to justify why one doesn't want to donate. Just look forward to perfect yourself, help others achieve perfection and to perfect the universe with honest common good.
  18. Day 50 While it is know that I'm a former Vainglory and chess player I haven't talk much about the time I spent playing poker online. During the time I was studying IT, I took the hasty decision to start playing poker online and drop out. I thought to myself "Well, I taught myself how to play chess, surely I can do the same with poker". With no plan whatsoever I jumped right into Pokerstars. While I grinded a lot playing poker, unlike chess I didn't took a extensive time to study and analyze poker. This of course was a mistake. Eventually I noticed I wasn't a winning player (I didn't study enough or used poker tools) and thought I could be addicted to gambling. I wasn't but it took me a long time to actually quit playing poker. At the end I probably lost about $500 and a lot of time. Once I stoped playing poker I started playing Vainglory, found my way to GQ and well the rest is history...
  19. Excellent fully committing is the first step to success! Don't forget to apply all the tools Cam recommends. Just scroll down and you will find them. Use them all, super important! Just don't go smurfing!
  20. Will be editing the original post for a better format.
  21. I noticed this is a common topic in the journals. Must of us start the detox but don't have a concrete life plan or goal in life. We usually just have a vague idea of what we want. We need to become more than "mere bundle of wavering thoughts and fluctuating sensations" This is soooo true! That's what I love about this forum and this community. It's full of people discovering themselves. Games were this distraction that kept us from hearing parts of ourselves that are quieter...more in the background. Getting rid of that noise not only gives us more time in the day, but it gives us the ability to expand ourselves. To try new things and see what works and what doesn't! It's full of endless possibilities and the freedom and possible future is almost scary it's so exciting. This is the problem of us who grew up playing videogames. We were too busy achieving the spiritual journey of our pixalated characters that we forgot about our own development. Once we quit gaming we end up not knowing who we are, what do we want or where are we going. In GameQuitters journals this is a very common theme.
  22. Really like the starry night picture, such a great idea to make something ordinary beautiful.
  23. Your journal structure is quite smart. How did you come up with this idea?
  24. Hitchhiking to Africa. Joking asides, I wondered this myself. Hopefully he can use the $3,000 for the EPIC foundation and make a new round of funding for the remaining $2,000.
  25. Cam recommends google chrome extension Stayfocusd. Once you get the hang of it you will need nothing else. It´s free. You can also use K-9 Filter, which also is free. I find it effective to use both.
