    Amir's daily Journal

Hi everyone I'm Amir. An 18-year-old student from Iran. I just wanted to quit gaming so... I googled it, and found here.๐Ÿ˜ I certainly believe this is a great place to track your progress and achieve your goals and of course quit wasting your time on video games. I have 4 rules from now on: 1. No video games. 2. No video game activity including streams, walkthroughs, reading about video games or watching any particular video about it. 3. Study at least 10 hours (Because of my professional goal which is entering medical school.) 4 Not to watch TV series/animes/movies: This is unrelated to video games but still a very bad habit. So this is day #1 let's see how it goes.

Day #18 I separated my studying place from my bedroom. I lock myself into that room from the morning till the night. I'm gonna work hard. My motto is, work hard or you die. There is no average. If you go for average, you'll have Nothing.

Day #17 I successfully replaced my gaming habit with tv shows and movies. Now I'm not playing games at all. But I'm just watching stuff all the time. ๐Ÿ˜ This has to stop. I don't care if I replace it with studying or exercising or anything else. I just have to stop wasting my time on movies.

Day #15 I am not feeling any urges to play videogames but I watch a lot of movies and tv series which is taking up all of my time. I need to start quitting that too. In fact, that's even a stronger bad habit than video games. Any of you guys having the same problem?

Day #14 Hi, I'm back from the trip. I don't count these two days because I played a little bit of soccer video game with my family and it was fun. I wasn't trying to do it or craving for it. I didn't actually enjoy the playing part but the talking and being with my uncle and cousin part.

    Should we quit everything?

Hi everyone. So we all know what bad habits are like: They ruin your academic performance/work, relationships and basically your entire life if you don't deal with them soon enough. Just like video games. And when you actually try to replace them with something else-even if you succeed- the other habit ends up ruining your life as well. So my question is: If we are addicted to video games, should we quit every technology? If we're addicted to youtube, should we disconnect the internet? Or actually, take another step and sell all of our devices and spend the money on something else? What do you think? Are these huge steps necessary?

    Whoโ€™s playing in moderation?

First of all. For multiplayer games. I'm not going to be able to play in moderation at all. I just start playing Battlefield and 16 hours passes. I forget to eat/drink. I just want to headshot other people with my shotgun (I'm very good at that LOL). That happens for most single player games as well. Because nowadays most video games own a leveling system like AC Odyssey Or Origins or god of war, mgs5.... Which is very addictive and makes you spend hours in a day to level up and be able to get another skill or buy a new weapon. So in my opinion, playing video games can not be done in moderation. It's whether a 1 or a 0.

Day #13 Gratitude journal I'm grateful for: My curiosity. I just found out that this is the key to academic success. Being able to buy books that can change my life. All the time and opportunities I have right now. One amazing thing that happened/I did today I decided to do something new but I'm not sharing it with you guys before it's done. Workout/run No, sorry. But It's going to start next week. Meditation I should learn how to do this! Visualization I can be a very successful and strong doctor if I work hard right now. Daily affirmation I'm getting stronger every day. Getting to bed before 12 pm Nope. I'm writing this at 12:09 Weekly Goal(s) Studying and reviewing biology. (did it but not enough) Brushing my teeth twice a day. (done by now) Using dental floss once a day. (done by now) Taking a shower every day. (done) Monthly Goal Making studying a habit. Brushing my teeth twice a day. Not running away from practice exams. Studying 8 hours for 30 days in a row. 3 Month Goal Finishing all the books for the big test. Not being moody. What went well today: I decided to go on a trip to my hometown with my family. I was a little depressed for finishing "Friends" show in the last couple of days. But now I'm back to normal. What I could have done to make my day better: I could have used less social media. What I will do differently tomorrow: I will take tomorrow's practice exam. No matter what.

    I feel like a failure.

Hi, start telling us how you feel and share your progress, even if you relapsed, start again. Don't be afraid, quitting something especially when you're addicted to it and you use it to run away from real life can be very hard. But it is possible. Good luck.

I totally have the same experience so many times during the day. I think about my childhood and I come up with infinite embarrassments. They come to my mind and make me want to cry. That is probably the most important reason why I got addicted to so many things. Because I didn't want to feel embarrassed/anxious anymore. That is a really bad feeling. But I really like your attitude: "Life is not easy. But we can do amazing things ๏ปฟwhen we are disciplined." Keep it up, you can do it.

Hi, from now on, I'm going to be using this temple for my journal. Hope it works. Day #11 Gratitude journal I'm grateful for: Making good friends in the library and having a designated place to study. My parents for being so patient and selfless about me. Being able to quit and forget everything about gaming. One amazing thing that happened/I did today I watched the last episode of "Friends" and it made me cry. Workout/run I walked around a park 2 times. Meditation what???? Haven't done that... Visualization I thought about a time when I'm fit and successful and have really good relationships. Daily affirmation My strength is greater than any struggle. Getting to bed before 12 pm Weekly Goal(s) Studying and reviewing biology. Studying 10 hours for just one day. Brushing my teeth twice a day. Using dental floss once a day. Taking a shower every day. Monthly Goal Making studying a habit. Brushing my teeth twice a day. Not running away from practice exams. Studying 8 hours for 30 days in a row. 3 Month Goal Finishing all the books for the big test. Not being moody. What went well today: Walking and studying biology. Not playing video games is becoming a strong habit. What I could have done to make my day better: Sleeping earlier yesterday and waking up earlier today. What I will do differently tomorrow: I will wake up at 7 o clock and study 8 hours. Maybe at home, maybe in the library.

Day #8,9 and 10 hi guys. I've been going to the library for studyig. It really helps me concentrate. For a reward, I watch one or two episodes of Friends every night. It's very funny, entertaining and romantic. If you feel depressed you must consider watching it. After deleting everything from my PS4 I haven't played yet. And that's very good ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ

Day #7 Today was a little bit better. I studied a little bit. But I was still watching friends. I keep coming up with great ideas to improve my life but I don't have enough willpower or consistency to put them into action. I'm afraid one day I might be running out of creativity. So I need to start new habits and change my life. OK maybe that studying 10 hours wasn't necessarily a good idea and I need to start with small achievements and actually be happy about them.

Fawn_xoxo daily; thoughts, goals & evaluation

Use a carbs-free diet like me. You'll lose a lot of weight. At least 2 KGs in the first week. Diet is very important. And whole body workout is important, too. Last month I tried running around a park for 30 minutes. I did it for 30 days without any change in my regular diet( Carbs included). I even gained 1 kg. But then I realized I was just using my lower-body muscles. So I installed an app called 30-day challenge. It is a full body workout and has multiple levels(Easy, moderate, hard). You should try it, too.

Day #3 I have been up from 6 am in the morning and studying. I watched my national team's soccer game though I regret it because first I squandered my time second we lost and I'm so upset about it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I haven't been playing video games for 3 days and because of that I can be productive and get so much done during the day. I'm not worried about biology exams any more since I'm prepared. That's it. See you tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜˜

Day #2 today I studied and did literally nothing else. I slept too much today that I had to word hard to compensate. No video games. No time wasting. I had to instal the app "Space" on my android to avoid being distracted.
