  1. Hey dude, great entry. First, don't worry about the DDR stuff. You're out, it's social, not a big deal. The main thing I'd encourage you is next time, instead of texting the girl to see if it's her, just go up and talk to her. You were a bit too passive in this situation, "texting" and then telling her to come see you "if she has time." Step into your role as a leader, go talk to her if you want to talk to her.
  2. Haha maybe you should start it
  3. Hey Alex! What are some of your questions about not gaming on your winter break? I'm going to make a video on this shortly.
  4. It's amazing how missing one habit snowballs into the others. Not having unhealthy snacks in the house is one of the easiest ways to avoid that in my experience.
  5. Hey Chris! Thanks for joining us here. I definitely encourage you to write often, as it helps you clear your mind and process your experience. You'll find many others here doing the same. From your post it sounds like the key is going to be finding some resting activities you can do at home that help you relieve stress. It's always interesting how we use gaming when we're "too tired" for other activities... when gaming is an activity that takes a lot of focus and concentration too - it's just easier to get started (power on, follow instructions, play), vs. say with guitar where we need to choose what actions we're going to take on our own. Any ideas for things you can do at home to relieve stress?

Great job on your case brief! Your hard work pays off.
  7. Haha that's so awesome! Great perseverance! Love the photo.
  8. I'm sure I could, but I'm not too worried about that quick fix to be honest. I'd rather gain half a pound/month and get there in a year through the right habits and having fun than getting there in a month and hating my life during it.
  9. Hey Alex, check out this post: http://fourhourworkweek.com/2012/12/11/how-to-play-the-guitar/
  10. Hey Torc. Joe was going through some gastritis last month. Check out his journal to hear what he did to help it.
  11. I love hearing how much time your family spends together.
  12. Hey Thomas. This post might help: http://fourhourworkweek.com/2012/12/11/how-to-play-the-guitar/
  13. Haha great job! Remember, it's just a "fun" way to experience rejection to help you realize that it isn't as bad as you thought. Only our thinking makes it so.
  14. The way you do something is the way you do everything.
  15. Hey Thomas! Great to hear your update. It's always good to surround yourself more by the students who are motivated. We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. If you wanted to have better grades, hanging out with those students would make a big difference!
  16. Thanks for contributing to other members journals - it means a lot and helps me out! The Power of Habit is a great book for you right now. The sooner you can implement the right habits in your life, the more benefit you'll gain from them over time.
  17. Big fan of Gary Vaynerchuk. I watch basically everything he puts out - he has a lot of good mindsets for being successful.
  18. Hey Paul! Awesome to see another journal up here, it always makes my day when there is one.
  19. Woot! Happy you got it. Sending them internationally I always worry about the address being wrong or something.
  20. Hey Travis. Part of what's happening is that your perspective is growing, so you are now able to see layers of possibility that you didn't before. That's good and a sign of progress. Just remember to take those bigger visions and turn them into actionable habits and small milestones you can hit along the way, as many have suggested in their responses to you. The vision you have for your life is growing, it's awesome.
  21. Congrats Marcus! Proud of you
  22. ;)
  23. I definitely know how much 3600 calories is, haha. Been there. I haven't found the perfect mix with calories yet. Now that my workouts are good and the habit is formed I'm going to work on it more. I just need to make sure I don't hate eating, or that it doesn't feel like a chore, because that's when I use willpower to do it and that only lasts so long.
  24. Yep exactly. Everything by David Deida will also be good for you on that regard.
  25. Lots of growth happening here. It's exciting. I'd recommend The Alabaster Girl by Zan Perrion. It's one of my favorites on relationships. No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover is also recommended.
