  1. Day 3 Watched Cam's video about E-Sports. When you have a dream you follow the right steps to achieve your dream. If you don't, it probably wasn't your dream you just "kind of want it". The purpose of man is to perfect oneself and the universe. How does videogames help achieve perfection? Thoughts of the day: Busy hands are happy hands. Leisure is the mother of all vices. Before my detox, when I played Vainglory, after going to the gym, I would come back home and play a couple of games, before taking a shower. Read "You Are The Result Of Yourself" by Pablo Neruda. I am thinking of memorizing it.
  2. Thanks Cam, I will check the video tomorrow. From now on I will make one post per day on this journal, and editing the post to put random thoughts on it. You get punished in-game if you quit the game. You get rewarded in real life if you quit the game.
  3. I relapsed since the first survey. Yesterday I answered the second survey and and took a more aggressive approach on my detox. This is day 2.
  4. Since I can remember I was good playing videogames. I was very competitive in multiplayer games. I enjoyed cooperative games but there were few. The Esports boom makes me imagine I could get in there. I guess thats the goal of the Esports. To make believe the average person that you can simply pick a game and become a superstar.
  5. Factory reset on my phone was a success. Installed K9 on it. Also instaled Habitica, Spotify and Blackboard. I will about installing Youtube with heavy censorship (to avoid watching those "Bikini Fitness Model Workout" videos
  6. Day 2 Today while walking to the gym I thought about gaming. I also thought about becoming a twitch streamer. During my haircut I saw two kids playing Call of Duty. A third one wasn't interested in gaming, only wanted his haircut. After I got a haircut and walked back home I thought about the equivalent of the Metabolic syndrome but with videogames. It would be Masturbation Videogames and Pornography. MVP. Funny
  7. There is. Research supports it. I wonder if depresive people are attracted to videogames or playing videogames develops depression. It is both. Feeling depressed can make you want to escape into video games, and video games can cause your lifestyle to get to a point where you could become depressed. To make it even more complicated, video games are also proven scientifically to help people with depression. Lol. The dose makes it poison or the medicine?

  9. Reserved. Ha sorry for the double post. Feel free to delete this one.
  10. I noticed that I spent some time googling and lurking in the forum. I putted my medical and legal documents in order. After lurking in another journal I remembered that today I dreamt of playing videogames.
  11. My advice would be, if you feel hesistant to sell it, do it. If you don't sell it, the fact that you still have it will in the back your mind. Getting rid of it would be a symbolic way of moving on a new chapter of your life.
  12. While online dating is ok you should also try to aproach girls the old fashioned way. Online dating should be your "second source of dates". First you should ask yourself if you are looking for a girlfriend or a friend with benefits. I truly recommend that you google "Anti dump's Machine" Your date ideas are fine. There's no need to rush the kiss. (I kissed my current girlfriend on the 4th date) Just kiss her when the moment feels right. My personal favorite are public parks, art museums, free local concerts, dancing class (visit the place or call and ask for a free class), going to the beach. Going to a bar. Anything that you would do on your own or with your friends is a valid date idea. Google free cheap dates. Challenge her to a chess game or tic-tac-toe. Play hand clapping games. Tickle her. Be curious about her. Ask her questions, her dreams, what makes her happy. If you are shy just make her talk with questions about her. Coffee shops are fine, I prefer those were you can sit on a couch or on the floor. If you have a car drive her to the date. If you don't have a car ask her to meet up at the date. Think ahead of time how are you gonna handle paying the date. Paying for both? Dutch? Invite her to your house is fine but always say why are you going. "Hey lets go listen to music at my place" "Let's go watch a movie" No need for the alcohol trick. In my experience being honest with the girl you are dating saves heartache to both of you.
  13. I thought I wouldn't be able to delete my accounts. But I did. I used K-9 to block Twitch and Lichess. K-9 setting are at minimal. Why are you quitting gaming? The reason I am quitting gaming is to focus on my health, finances, education, and relationship. How will you replace watching gaming streams? I have two websites which will be my new hobbies. Reading books from the public library (I will walk there which is a plus) Listening to Podcasts. How will you replace your old role models? I will be following: Tynan Jujimufu Victor Pride GameQuitters Videos The next step is my phone. It's an old Iphone 4, however I am gonna put K9 on it to avoid watching streams or pornography.
  14. Hello, Cam. I watched the video and I will be answering the following questions Why are you quitting gaming? , what's your goal? What are your new passive activities? Who are your new role models? In the meantime I am getting out of the house to get a haircut and buy some meds
  15. My main account, troll account and smurf account deleted.
  16. During the time I was playing Vainglory I would think it was awesome. Playing all day, going to the gym, then comeback and play some more, the perfect life.
  17. Sometimes I think that if I could make money of the game I am addicted to, it would't be an addiction but a job. When I go to the gym I walk, it takes me 10 minutes. I always think about gaming in that time.
  18. Day 1 What is your commitment? No games? No streams? Anything else? No gaming, no watching streams, no watching pornography, no masturbation. How long do you want this challenge to last? By default it is one month, but 90 days is recommended for your detox. 90 days. What are your goals? Complete 90 days. Why are you doing this? The reason I am quitting gaming is to focus on my health, finances, education, and relationship. I just answered the second detox survey. I have relapsed several times. The enemies right now are: Twitch: I been watching Esports Vainglory: I have 3 accounts that either need to be sold or deleted Lichess: I have been playing CrazyHouse while listening to Spotify I can simply use StayFocusd or K9 for Twitch and Lichess and be done with those two. It was very hard for me to contact support and ask for account deletion. Sometimes I imagined myself creating a twitch channel about vainglory with the main focus on one of the in-game character. I would wear an outfit of the character and be playing live. I didn't want to delete the acccounts. I wanted to sell them or keep them in case I opened a twitch channel. After much willpower I finally contacted support and asked for account deletion.
