  1. Yes! Publishing is becoming realistic to me, and I actually have an audience now! Find likeminded people and share your works! I'm afraid I'm clueless on the topic of fantasy, so I won't be of too much use But I wanna read anyways
  2. It absolutely gives a peace. I don't believe it can be done right though, it's a gift given to those who ask And yes, for God to be God he must be unfathomable. You're absolutely right. My faith (Bible-based) is that God created us in His image, meaning we all have a piece of God in us. You could say we can "see God" by maling completing the puzzle in which every human being through all times is a piece. Also, Jesus revealed God. We are flawed! Long story short: God ave humans free will and they chose to got their own way. All the evil in the world is a result of this. Evil and God are opposites, basically - because God is Love. He didn't want robots, so he gave us free will. He knew we would fail, but He was willing to take the punishment upon Himself (that's why Jesus came). He was before the Big Bang. But something must have been, right? Whether it was God or "something", either way, it's unfathomable. This is hard to understand for eveyone, regardless of faith. I just preached in your journal! Let me know when to stop Also these are big questions. Can't really explain everything in a short post, these are just fundamentals! I think everyone think of these things. Bible says we our spirits are longing for Heaven. This is why we have a basic need of something to worship, whether it is God, a celebrity or myself.
  3. Day 12: The wedding was amazing! So proud of my sis' and her hubby on my way back home today. Feeling a bit more sick, can't get myself to eat much. My body's standard response after a busy day atm Anyways, woke up to a new poem published in one of the national newspapers! Loads of good feedback. This is way beyond my imagination! Fun, fun, fun!
  4. 2500 words! and then you finished the day with Inception overload! But it sounds awesome! Days of depressive thoughts and ambitions happen keep it up man! You're on the right track When it comes to humanity being created from chance I have a completely different perspective I believe in the Big Bang, but I also believe there is a Creator behind all of it, who made us the way we are, in his image, because He loves us! Without my faith and relationship with God I wouldn't have purpose in my life. But hey, that's a different topic I'm not gonna fill your journal with preaching!
  5. Thank you, @Robin! Day: 11: Woke up in a hotel and got myself a nice, Norwegian breakfast. The wedding starts in 2h30, so I've got some time to write/relax/read. Today's gonna be a day full of people, desserts and joy. I LOVE DESSERT Last night I wrote another poem. Been three days since the last. Now I've written seven, working on number eight. Guess I'll need about 20-30 to publish a collection. That's a lot! But it's happening Also, I'm wondering how to promote my blog. I've had 160 different people read my first post, which is awesome! Trying to figure how to increase that number without being the annoying guy who spams people down. Promoting myself is somehing is dislike very, very much
  6. You're probably right! I've got no experience with fantasy books because I mostly read books of self-development. Reading probably can have the same effect as gaming, and I agree with you when it comes to virtuality being just as real as writing In the end I guess we're all biased - speaking of what gives meaning and what doesn't. Holy moly, that school day sounds harsh! Who would do something like that to their students? Keep up the work, man! No cravings for five days is awesome! Seems like no longer watching gaming content is working out for you!
  7. Also GJ you for getting your ass into the library!
  8. "Maybe I have too strict bedtime routines"... if only that was my problem, and not the opposite I realized saying "books give you creativity" and giving no examples made quite a weak argument, lol! I think my idea was that books make you think ans reflect, whereas (most) games make you press your keyboard or think of game tactics, and that's the end I'd it. Storywriting addiction, eh? That's exciting! makes me wanna read your book even more. To me it all comes down to purpose. I found gaming is empty. It's fun but nothing sustainable. However, writing allows me to express myself, to share my mind with another person and to shape someone else - or start a discussion. I agree that finding meaning is subjective in the way that we have different skills, interests and personalities. In addition I'd suggest that in order to find purpose/meaning you'd have to create/protect/fight for something. This is why writing gives meaning whereas gaming doesn't (people think it gives purpose because they create or protect in-game, but it's virtual, so it doesn't really). But hey, I might be wrong
  9. Thank you, Simon! Yesterday was a good day Day 10: It's day 10 already! Crazy! One thing I love about journaling is how it makes me appreciate each day. Also, it's easy to measure my progress and look back at where I came from! Yesterday was great! Today I'm back on the road for my sister's wedding in a different town. Gonna stay in a hotel, eat yummy food and celebrate. Life is good to me!
  10. @WorkInProgress Thanks! ???? haha, I'm glad you liked it! I think it's a bit cheesy, but at least people remember it!
  11. @Yellow Thank you! ???? I'm enjoying it fully! Glad you enjoyed the blog!
  12. Thank you, Reno! Day 9: Launching my blog! I went early to bed last night. Feel asleep before midnight and got up at 7:30. Not going to work or anything, just got up early to be productive. And it feels great! I've already continued writing my bullet journal in addition to editing and launching blog! I'm excited, because I've never blogged "for real" before. Also, it's my birthday today (hooray for me). I'll be celebrating with my family for the rest of the day. Turning 21, woop woop. My posts are shrinking because I'm not having any challenges (for now), and I'm busy blogging, journaling and doing life. I'll return with a forum bible whenever I face plant or my world turns upside down!
  13. Day 8: Journaling is ON! Won't be too long today. Got loads of stuff to do! - I began journaling. Having a system of my everyday life is so helpful! Makes me much more productive, and it's fun! - I've begun designing my blog! When I go travelling the world next year I'll blog about it. Until then I will be sharing my story: "From virtuality to reality". Excited! - Back home from holidays. Had a full day of planning + doing to-do's. Life is good!
  14. Awesome! At the end of the day, computers or games are not dangerous. It's the competetive, all-in style of playing games that stop people from doing what they really want to do! I'm happy to hear you've found something that interests you and is enjoyable! Keep it up
  15. Cool beans! I think the difference between reading and gaming (when both include a fantasy universe) is the fact that you won't identify yoursel with / live through the book. In the moment, sure, you can imagine you're IN the story - and you probably do. What I found with gaming was that it took all of my perspective, not only while gaming. I was constantly thinking of games, it was the reason I'd get through the day and what I would always look forwards to. Also, books give you creativity, whereas games mostly demand you to focus, play well and lose yourself. Just a few random thoughts based on my personal experience. Could probably write an article about it, but I won't Also, it's exciting that your writing is progressing! I can relate to being critical towards yourself. I think it's a good thing! That's the only way to produce a proper product (I think?). However, allow someone to evaluate with you - Sometimes we're too critical!
  16. Awesome! I'm happy to hear tables are turning for you! Read some of your early-days journaling, and you've come far since then! From gaming being the only fun to ideal days where gaming is not mentioned! Also, I'm excited that both of you are on the journey of writing a novel! Keep it up, lads! Also, good luck on your test tomorrow!
  17. Thank you, Cam! Helps me understand cravings, which is really helpful! I'll keep this in mind Day 7: Time to go home Didn't take the time to write yesterday. A mix between hanging out with my cousin and his gf and letting gambling back into my life. Not as bad as it's been before, but still money wastes. I'm going to get professional help on the topic during next month, and have planned out economy control with the help of my father. I think the main issue lately has been sitting around too much. While not being st home, and not having energy to be active, I've been sitting in the coach for several hours. Tonight I'm going home, and although I've had a great time, I think it'll be good
  18. Day 5: Woke up having cravings to do sports betting, but I've set up safe guards, fortunately. The cravings are dying out and I'm happy having resisted it! Another relaxing day on vaycay
  19. Great! You're absolutely right about logics and common sense not being present when things get tough I'm glad you worked it out! And I think not watching League content is a great idea! Hang in there bro
  20. Wuut? writing is as real as it gets for me, man! A poem, a novel or a song that plays on the heart strings, touching the deep of human emotions - there is nothing more valuable a human can create than a piece of art that lasts forever! Not saying you should necessarily go for it, but don't drop it because you think it's of little value to the world!
  21. Day 4: Still going strong Not too much to say, really I'm relaxing on vacation, wrote a few more poems and will see my cousin today. A bit bored, because I lack the energy to be active (Vit. D), but it's great to completely relax, finally. Games never allowed me to do that!
  22. Whenever I miss League I do so because I remember the moments of going Legendary. When I would dominane, and no one could stop me. The thing is, chances are you'll get a leaver or play terrible and hate yourself for allowing this to happen. Being only on day 4, I'm not experienced enough to know what to say, yet. All I can think or is this: remind yourself how you felt before quitting, remind yourself why you quit and focus on where you want to be in 1 or 5 years. I doubt you wanna go back to how you felt before you quit. And man, you're full of talent and skillsets beyond the world of League! I hope you get to enjoy whatever you had planned
  23. Thank you! ???? I'll probably write English ones in the future. I'll let you know!
  24. Well, since you're Swedish you'll probably understand some of it I'll post it below! The paper next to bed tip is great! I keep my mobile phone with Evernote close at all times! That's exactly how I wrote the poem! Would be fun to share thoughts on writing with you! Edit - Here's the link to the poem: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10208411283218355&id=1194156144
