Lotuph Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Hello everyone, I am Lotuph, a 30 y/o lady. I’ve been gaming since I was a young kid. And I never stopped or took a break from gaming. On Steam alone I have 27698 hours logged as of yesterday evening. I am considering quitting for good but I am still kinda in denial… So I’m starting with a break as a reality check. nice meeting you all! love, Lotuph
Kam Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Welcome! A detox is a great move. GameQuitters recommends 90 days before making any other type of decisions about it. It's short enough that it's not forever, but long enough that you'll need to find replacement activities to fill the needs that gaming currently fills. After 90 days, you'll be much better equipped to make a decision on whether you quit for good, or reintroduce certain types of games/activities. I'm on day 29 out of 90, and the benefits I've gotten have been tremendous. My sleep and focus are better, I'm reading more, etc etc. Best of luck!
Lotuph Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Hey! Thanks for the tip, I will try for 90 days! My first thought was just 30 to be fair, since anything longer seems impossible almost. Guess that’s a sign, though…. 🫢
