NEW VIDEO: Why You MUST Quit Gaming in 2025

Hi everyone! I'm from Germany and I want to use the game quitters "respawn" experience as a way to quit my short videos addiction.

I'm hoping that it will free up time and mental space for me in order to care for my business better and to develop hobbies (I sadly have none at the moment, planning to start forest bathing, painting, playing handpan, yin yoga and sewing).

I feel like this forum is a bit of a ghost city, maybe I'm just not deep enough into it, yet. I will try to do my part to breathe a little life into it.

All the best for you and your plans, maybe drop me a few words so I can comment your blog or something? 😸

Hello Lorballett, yeah this forum is not very active. Though personally, I like that. I'm recovering from a social media addiction (one of my compulsive behaviors) and a lot of forums included in that for me, so the lack of activity actually helps form more interpersonal connections; I give more thought to where and what I post each day instead of just seeking a thread as "something to do."

Well, at least that is what I find. Whether it's video game recovery or other compulsive tech behaviors, I do think that we shouldn't spend all our time during recovery and post-recovery on the computer either; don't replace one addiction with other less-than-ideal habits. In other words, I think the low activity is a feature, not a bug.

The Daily Journals section is the most active part, I post there once a day at least on my own journal, mostly for my own self reflection and accountability.

There are also other communities in other platforms, including Discord and Facebook (if you browse this forum on desktop, you should see a side bar with links). Those sites are bottom lines for me, so you won't see me there, but if you can safely use those platforms without going into rabbit holes, then I encourage you to join them.

Hello!

Yeah, this forum can feel a bit lifeless overall. Everyone is very much foused on their own personal journey and mostly only writes daily journals. I wished we could have more threads about positive things people do in their lives as they recover. Stuff like sharing photos, inspirational stories or tips on how to progress through various trials. I used to lurk on gaming forums in the past and not only for talking gaming, but also for discussing politics, other hobbies or random topics relating to entertainment. A forum like this kind of lacks that spectrum of conversation, but it's at the same time understandable. People are not here to chit-chat first and foremost, but to stay focused and recover.

In the future (as society becomes more aware of the dangers of gaming) I think we'll see a lot more community overall surrounding these issues. Things like meet-ups, pep talks, inspirational videos and what not. Being too attached to technology in general seems to be a hot topic for society these days so hopefully we'll see even more counter-balance now as we go forward.
