  1. Hey Jeff! I'm really happy that you're here! We are almost on the same boat, though. I played last time at 31 December, and 2016 is gonna to be my year of change. I hope it'll also be yours! We are struggling with many difficulties and obstacles at the beginning, but I know we will manage to run over them.
  2. @Django Thanks for inspiration! I'll share with you about my experience with giving up sleeping. When I was in elementary, I was able to wake up at 4a.m. Then do homework for couple of minutes, because the day before I've been playing for the whole afternoon. After quick breakfast I had been playing Tibia until I had to go to school Can you realise it right now? I've been playing TIBIA. Stupid game about making my pixel stronger. And since today the mechanisms in this pixel game was so addictive that sometimes I wanted to play it as a form of relapse. But now, it's gone. Never more Tibia. During last year I've been in strange routine to play video games since I came home to about 2a.m. I was tired next day with lack of concentration and after coming back home I was so tired that I was able only to play more. What a vicious cycle. Now I try to sleep at least 7-7,5 hours to be well-rested and ready for the next day. I also to try fall asleep at 10-11p.m. and wake up 5-6a.m. What's most important to sleep well is to take screen off before 1 or even 2 hours before bedtime. Why? Because our brain interpretate screen light as a signal that it's still a day, so it doesn't secrete enough melatonin - hormon responsible for sleeping and day and night cycle. Also improtant for me is to set alarm clock 2 hours before sleeping and put my phone away (most times I'm plugging it to charger)
  3. How about making chess tasks online? Is it fine during detox. Just like on http://chesstempo.com/
  4. Wow, that's really great conlusion. Good that your relapse didn't take loads of your precious time!
  5. I feel like we're on the same boat, B1ggl3fty with mindless internet browsing. What I'll do for tomorrow to avoid it, is to schedule my next day. I remember that it helped me a lot. And also scheduling things I need to do on Internet/computer. Great to hear, that not only am I struggling with browsing mindlessly. It's just reassuring!
  6. Hey, I can relate to what you're talking about a lot! If you want to give up porn, you should be aware of the reality of this movies. AND I don't recommend watching documentary movies, because they also have some scenes from porn which can trigger you. I know an awesome blog about porn&masturbation, however it's written in Polish. Anyways, here are the great TEDx talks about porn movies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRJ_QfP2mhUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRJ_QfP2mhU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU I subconsciously realised that these movies are completely fake after watching one of them, and I decided to not get into it. I also know how our gaming status (character's level, skills we have etc.) can affect our self-esteem. I've been affected by that even when I was in primary school and playing Tibia. The character's level was displaying to other players and if you didn't have high enough level, they didn't want to even talk to you. Also, you was easy target for others, if you were low level character, just like me most times. I can recommend this documentary about status anxiety: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1MqJPHxy6g Hope it helps and you'll give a new post soon!
