I partly agree. I think quitting cold turkey requires discipline of course, which is finite, and shouldn't be exercised in the long hall.
Indeed habits and environmental changes are what helps make it into something that requires almost no discipline, but, in order to allow yourself to find these new habits, it often helps to deprive yourself of the hormones that gaming fulfilled first, which in turn causes stronger cravings which pushes you to finding these new habits and routines.
So, I think there's definitely a place for discipline and quitting cold turkey, but in the long term the overall environments and habits are what helps stick to it. Even then it is not an infinite solution, because once an addict - always an addict. You still have the neuronal connections that can fire up really quickly and throw you into old habits. And once you experience habit changes or "down times" cravings may return. Then again discipline is required for short periods while you're looking for a new bridge to a new environment.
I guess the fact you don't need this forum is due to the fact that you reflect somewhere else, right?
Because I may definitely understand that you don't need this forum. But I would argue that reflection in some way or form is indispensible.
Let me know what you think if you read this message after all.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, glad to see you're following your potential and are not participating in gaming.
One more human who contributes to society and develops himself makes us stronger as a race as a whole, and of course makes you feel more fulfilled usually(so far as my assumption goes :) ).
