  1. Thank you, boys! :) It's been great so far. Will be awesome to start 2017 by completing the detox :D

Appreciate the feedback! I agree, Simon. Sharing what I write, it be poems, blogging or novels, is helpful in the process of improving as a writer!

  2. @flingaas I'm way ahead of you man :D I finished S3 of the 100 as soon as it came out, lol :P (Clarke is so friggin badass, oh my). I've read the book too, but the storyline there isn't quite the same as in the series.

I appreciate your suggestion anyways! I'll warn you that season 3 kinda goes crazy, but it's still definitely worth watching.

Ah ???? Alrighty then! Guess I'll have to go watch Season 3 too ????

  3. You should watch "The 100"! Great series. I'd say emotions vs evolution is one of the main topics. A bit slow in the beginning, but so friggin good! Makes you think :D I just finished S2.

Edit: I just realized you're not watching Netflix. Keep it up bro! You could read the book as well :)

  4. Thank you guys! And wb from Tanzania, Cam!

Tomorrow's day 30! I haven't posted for a week now, but I'm doing great :) basically busy doing life. Watched "War Room" yesterday, great movie! Posting a new blog post tomorrow: "Dare to Differ".

I probably won't post every day, but I'll come by every now and then! Has been very helpful to be part of this community, and it stil is :D

  5. Day 22: Time flies

I thought I'd missed one day, only to realize I missed two. Time goes by so fast, but I'm having a good time! Been hanging out with people the last few days and life is going well. Still no gaming cravings, which is awesome. Working on a blogpost for tomorrow, thinking of writing some more poems. Also, I've started watching a TV series. I've been a bit tired the last two days, and in need relaxing. This is good too :) I'll keep my eyes open for addiction! Becoming a TV series addict is not an option. But it's all good so far. It's quite different from gaming to me :) A few hours today, and it's been good! Just stopped watching to be a bit productive.

  6. Every moment is a decision; will you do something that improves your life, or will you do something that detroys it? Will you invest the time at hand, or will you kill it? Will you be living, or will you be dying?

    Let's choose life, people.

    This.
    So good!

  7. Day 19: Here we go :o

I've finished my collection of 20 poems and tomorring I'm sending it to a potential publisher! It normally takes 3-6 weeks to receive a response, so I'll still have to wait for a while. However, I'm sending it - I've done it! Whether they like it or not, I have made my very own collection of poems. Super encouraging to have produced something of value to others (loads of different people have told me they appreciate it, not just my parents xD), compared to the gaming which only "benefited" me.

Day 19 has been good! Great day in church followed by cleaning my room and getting a new sofa in here. In the evening I went to the cinema with a few friends of mine. I'm almost three weeks in and I haven't been craving for games once (except in my dreams at night, lol).

  8. Thank you, Simon! :) I appreciate your encouragement! I'm glad you find it bold rather than arrogant, that was my intention :D I'm definitely succeeding on a personal level! Excited to see whether I'll succeed as a writer! Got some exciting news :D

  9. Day 18: Have had a great day so far! Spent a few hours in church at a conference, which was absolutely amazing! Church and leaders in church are the reasons I am where I am today. So grateful!

Also, I'm at 18/20 poems. Two more to go and I'll forward them to a publisher. I'm confident, yet really excited. Are they going to like it? Is it good enough to get published by a recognized publisher? Will people buy it? Does my age help? Lots of questions. As mentioned earlier, I've already been in the newspapers for one poem, which is helpful (and crazy!) I've received tons of positive feedback from young teens, parents and grandparents. Love how I can communicate what I stand for and believe in (in opposition to the culture I live in) through my writing.

That being said, I've started to feel the fear of rejection. Also, I'm reminding myself not to lose myself in all of this. If I ever am to succeed at something (poetry in this case), I do not want to become proud. I wanna stay humble and be myself. Fear and pride, FLEE! :D

    Life's good though!

On a second note: is my title cocky? Let me know if it is, lol! That was not my intention :D

  10. Day 17: Beautiful day

Hanging out with my best friend. Not doing much in the morning, but going to our youth service in church tonight. Hopefully I'll write a poem during the day. Been a few day since the last one! At least I'm very social atm :D

  11. ow that's awesome. I am Kind fo sad that I can't understand your norwegian Poems. Get well soon.

Thank you! :) I'm not good enough at English to write well, yet :( Such a rich and beautiful language takes years to master :x

  12. (Any poem-writing tips, @flingaas;) )

    (...)

I catched myself wasting about 2.5 hours tonight, and it pissed me off. The anger was unproportional to the specific time wasted today (there's only so much you can do in 2.5 hours), but that doesn't matter. I got furious, really, at the concept of wasting time.

Take that anger and put it in a poem! :) That's what I do. I put my frustrations/feelings/thoughts on paper with a few rhymes :P

  13. Day 15: Time flies

Have barely been online the past two days. Had friends over all the time, loads of fun :) All going well! I'm super happy with not playing games anymore, and I get a lot of compliments for my poem in the newspaper. It's time to get my feet back on earth and focus in every day life. Was fun being a celebrity though :D

  14. @flingaas There's just a lot of stigma surrounding christianity; I can't avoid thinking of the crusades, the way they suppressed the development of science, the prejudice against homosexuals.

I suppose this is because of the human flaws though, not the religion itself. I'll consider it, since you presented your case so well :P

All the terrible things Christians have done (and still do) in the "name of God" can't and shouldn't be defended though! I'm just as discusted as you are! :( We ought to love, not to judge - end of story. That being said, atheists have killed loads of people too - it is as you say, not a religious, but a human issue.

Let me know if you stumble upon something weird or stupid! (I sound like I have all the answers, LOL. I wish!)

  15. Day 13: WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

I'm still quite shocked! Sent a poem regarding manliness to our national newspaper. The topic has been discussed lately, due to a FB group of men harassing women, so it was relevant.

Anyways, I sent the poem to the youth debate section of the newspaper. And guess what - they liked it. Well so I thought until last night, when I realized my face was on the FRONT PAGE of the national newspaper. LOL! They didn't like it, they loved it! I'm 12 poems into my collection and I'm receiving public recognition. Unbelievable :D

The doctor told me to stay home from work for two more weeks (vit. D stuff). In other words: more writing, thinking and relaxing :)

That's beyond awesome, dude. :D Seriously. 13 days away from gaming and this happens. Just imagine what lies hidden beyond the horizon (*spoiler* great things).

It's been 13 crazy days for sure! Excited :D

  16. Missing your ex girlfriend is very normal! Let some time pass and re-think why you broke up :) Don't ask "can I live with her?" but "can I live without her?" If the answer to that is "I think can!", then let her go.

The worst thing you can so is choosing a girl out of the fear of ending up single. Choose your girl because that's the girl you can't do life without :) obviously, it'll take some time until you get that far with another girl... but man, you're 17! :D clichè, but really, you're not in a hurry.

  17. Day 13: WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

  18. Hello fellow Norwegian :D late happy birthday from me haha. good job on getting twelve days! I have found that the longer you go without gaming, there more momentum you get, you can then use that momentum to stay away for even longer :)

Hey, man! Finally a Norwegian fella! :D (love you too, Simon - being a Swede is close enough!) Thank you! :D

  19. Everything made from nothing is against the (current) laws of physics. We can't possible understand that. However, an eternal God or something is bizarre to us as well! What I find interesting though, is the longing for eternity we have. We do what we can do extend our lives, and maybe some day live eternally. Can this be because we were supposed to in the first place? Just a thought :D

I can see why Buddhism is appealing! We're living in a world of chaos. This life for eternity sounds less attractive than a life "at peace", for sure. Fortunately, the eternal life I believe in is a life much like this, just without pain/evil/suffering/you name it. As it was at creation.

It's popular to choose the "religion that suits me the most" these days. If you're ever gonna look into religion, be more critical than that! :D Is it reliable? That being said, the Christian faith (complete forgiveness and unending love and grace) is the most suitable. There is nothing you have to do to achieve it + it is the most "rewarding".

Biased as I am, I find all religions to be fragments of the Christian faith.
