The vaccine comes out in April for the public in America. Maybe it'll be similar for you. Then once you get the vaccine you could probably do whatever and be safe from covid. I tried cold showers. They definitely had some benefits but I didn't want to deal with the discomfort of it either. Nice job tracking all the stuff you did for the year. That's a lot of tracking you did. I used to game all the free time I had basically and would think about it obsessively when I wasn't gaming. It was not so good.

I am a University student studying Virology and I am a game addict. I have been struggling with gaming for a long time. It started with World of Warcraft which was probably the first game that hooked

It is fascinating how our perspectives change over time. I remember that back, in the beginning, I was in a similar situation, and it was a lot more challenging to say no. Thus I was more excited abou

I did most of the stuff I wanted to do yesterday and also had some time to relax. I woke up bit too late and then went to bed bit later than I would like to so that kinda made it really hard to wake up today. I decided to delete tinder now too. So now I do not have any social media on my phone, if I do not count messaging apps which are legit useful. It is kinda a funny feeling as there is not much procrastination or random dopamine activity that I can do with my phone now. I can surf web but that is nowhere near as addictive. Instead I am more drawn to reading journals or learning russian on Duolingo which is what I was aiming for. I did about 50% of the future authoring and I have really enjoyed this section. I think it is quite beneficial to think about what we would like our lives in future and then write it down. I have a solid image which to aim for now.

@TheNewMe2.0 No it wasn't. As with anything, when it gains control over us it becomes a problem. Well they already started vaccinating but it is mainly focused on people with high risk of severe illness or the ones working with these people. This makes sense, once that is done the all round mortality should drop significantly because for most younger and healthy people it does not seem to be that dangerous. I would be interested in the antibody test to check if I had it already. As I think that there is a high chance that I did. If that would be the case, and I would have functional antibodies there would be no point to take the vaccine. It is a lot of tracking but the app is really easy to use so it does not bother me. I always like to have stats like this, and games were good at providing it. And my overall approach to fighting this addiction was to get as many of these gaming elements that I love, back into the real world. And I think I did pretty well, the aspects that I am still missing is competition, and a bit of problem solving/challenge. I believe that MMA and Programming will be able to fill these last two voids left by gaming. I guess there is a bit of problem solving in science as well, especially when it comes to lab work, but I found that it frustrates me more than anything haha. Although it is super rewarding when you optimize experiment and it finally works. But I miss the digital type, I had a blast when I was first working with data last year.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

Thinking about our future self is good to do. It's nice to have an idea of what you want your end game to look like. I know certain people already get the vaccine. I just meant the general public gets it in april. Having a measurable thing to see your improvement is great. It's more motivating to have something to measure yourself by. I see what you're doing it's like fulfilling your gaming needs with real world things, that's healthy sounding. MMA and programming sound good. Very challenging. I guess you'll get more digital stuff in with the programming. I wouldn't mess with that stuff because I'd feel like it was another job. But more power to you if you can do it and enjoy it.

I will keep it brief today. I was quite productive on Monday and was hoping to achieve the same on tuesday but spend the whole day hanging out with a friend. But it was great. I have also finished the puzzle with a little help but still. I am super excited that it is done and it was actually a good fun building it. Especially when building it with someone. I added early morning to my positive tasks, what that means is that when I wake up I cannot return to bed. Whenever I do this I feel even more tired, it fucks up my whole morning routine as well as shifts everything in my day for later. I know that if I do not return I stop being sleepy after a while, but I just need to push through that short period when all I want is to stay in bed for longer.

@TheNewMe2.0 It definitely is something worthwhile thinking about, moreover when you write it down, it is there. So I better start moving towards my imagined future and make it a reality. Oh I see, yeah that should be possible at that time. It is, I really enjoy having this type of tracking and stats about my life haha. Lot of people suggested it on here as well it was one of the exercises in Respawn and I think it is a great way to tackle gaming. Because for real it can fulfill almost everything without giving you any real world value. And the more of this aspects I have replaced the less I think about gaming I would say. I still have this nostalgia thoughts about the gaming times, however I need to keep in mind also the times of anger and suffering. Thanks, I am glad that I can incorporate it into my field, more so that not many people can do it so I would say that it is even more worthwhile.

Good luck getting up. Getting enough sleep is important. Finding fulfillment in the real world is like a whole lot more involvement than gaming. And you're right games can fulfill a lot of needs without providing any value to our lives. They just like, placate us. I think about gaming too sometimes I don't know if that'll ever fully go away. I try to remember that it was bad for me and it made my life worse rather than better. Good job finishing your puzzle looks like it was a lot of pieces. I'm working more now and they're finding me more work to do at my job so I'll probably be up to like 30-33 hours a week. Which is pretty good for a therapist. That'd be nice to get to that much work and make a little more money. I'm really hoping that my work stuff works out and I don't have to change jobs. I like my current job.

Day 280

Habits:

  • Positive: (Meditation:208, Running:95, Workout:94, Russian:173, R programming:17, Early morning:0)
  • Negative: (No gaming:50, No gaming videos: 20, No sugar:40, No Porn:30, No takeaway:25)

Productive time: 08:06:00

Yesterday was pretty good, managed to be fairly productive. Had a really good time with programming because I was trying some challenges and I was able to work through them pretty well, I was surprised that I was easier than I expected and managed to get good results. Also doing some work on real like examples was good way to see how useful it can be. Well it's freezing outside now but I still want to go out to work out, if not I will have to workout at home which is doable too but I always struggled with it. However, it might be the better option, I have pretty much everything I need for it besides pull up bar but I can think of alternatives. I have been struggling with getting out of the house today but I want to go see how it would feel to work out outdoors.

@TheNewMe2.0It is but I want to go to bed sooner so that I still get enough sleep without sacrificing mornings. However, if I sleep in it is hard to fall asleep in the morning so I will need to force myself to fix it a bit with a day or two of being tired. I think it might but then you have to remember that we have been gaming for years. It is a strong habit engraved in our brain. I would not be surprised if it took year or even never until it disappears completely. That's awesome mate, hopefully it works out as you want and you can keep the job you like!

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

I used to workout at home then I got more hours at work and a nicer tv. Whenever I'm free I watch tv it's not so healthy. Gotta workout instead. Sounds like you could just go to bed earlier to get all your hours in. Yeah I hope to keep my job and finally earn supervision hours too. If it doesn't workout within a month I'll have to go back to interviewing ugh. Hey could we possibly do our commenting on my page? We could do a month there and switch pages each month so there's a balance to where we post. That would be better for me. We could just finish January on my page and go back to yours on February then back and forth each month. Would that be okay with you?

Day 281

  • Negative: (No gaming:51, No gaming videos: 21, No sugar:41, No takeaway:26)

Productive time: 05:55:00

Yesterday was pretty good, I didn't have time to write a post earlier today. I was super excited to go work out outdoors which was surprisingly fine. It was -2C however as long as I had gloves I didn't mind the cold. I have also finished the self authoring future part which was a nice way to write down and summarize what I want to do with my future. I made some progress with programming as well and I realized that I want to improve my skills with stats and Excel too. I am going to do them about two to three times a week to improve my knowledge without it taking too much time.

@TheNewMe2.0Can you watch tv while you work out? I like to do stretching while I watch something on my pc. It is not the best angle but it is doable and a great way to combine one great activity with another one that is more enjoyable. Yeah I need that, I am always super awake in the evening so that is a bit of struggle but I will improve on that too. That would be awesome if you can earn the supervision hours too! Yeah of course, I am sorry, I have not been on here too much as in the past so I was not posting regularly on your page. This is a great solution!

Day 282

Habits:

  • Positive: (Meditation:209, Running:96, Workout:95, Russian:174, R programming:18, Early morning:2)
  • Negative: (No gaming:52, No gaming videos: 22, No sugar:42, No takeaway:27)

Productive time: 05:12:00

So I started working on the PhD application so will see how that goes. Went for a run in a while which was great although I need to get back into it again as I felt my breathing was not as great as when I used to run a lot more but that was to be expected. I managed to wake up a bit earlier but I just make sure to go to bed early which I think is the main issue that I have. It is nowhere near as bad as it was in the past but I would like to wake up slightly earlier anyway.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

Day 283

  • Negative: (No gaming:53, No gaming videos: 23, No sugar:43, No takeaway:28)

Productive time: 07:11:00

I still need to work a bit more on the mornings, I think that the main issue that I have is that it is way too cold and way too comfy in my bed so trying to force myself out and then going out for a workout is not easy. Of course, going to bed sooner will help too. Otherwise nothing too special yesterday, it was great to be fairly productive, had a nice walk and exercise and then put some more time into programming.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

Day 284

  • Positive: (Running:96, Workout:96, Russian:176, Early morning:3)
  • Negative: (No gaming:54, No gaming videos: 24, No sugar:44, No takeaway:29)

Productive time: 05:22:00

It was pretty relaxing day. I have spend most of it reading but I also spend several hours learning Russian. It was good fun as at the end of the day the leaderboard was closing on Duolingo as it does every week. In the last half an hour it became a race between me and the #1 guy. He had a bit more points than I did but I managed to outrun him at the last moment and steal the #1 spot. It was so much fun but I can imagine that he must have been super pissed haha. I decided to remove the programming habit as I have few more things that I want to work on: Excel, Statistics and reading more journals so I want to focus on each of them on different days and mix it up. I think it will be better to devise my time this way than to do each of them for a very limited time every day.

@TheNewMe2.0The way my alarm is set up I need to get out of bed and then go to the bathroom to turn it off as it requires barcode to turn off. The problem is that even if I get out of bed, brush my teeth I end up returning to bed. That is the one thing that I need to improve on mainly. I am getting there, but I find it much harder now in winter compared to summer.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

Day 286

Habits:

  • Positive: (Running:96, Workout:97, Russian:178, Early morning:5)
  • Negative: (No gaming:56, No gaming videos: 26, No sugar:46, No takeaway:31)

Productive time: 09:21:00

So I did some changes, I decided to ditch alarm in the morning. When I wake up I wake up. On most of the days it does not matter and I can work in lab at any point of the day, this way I will have enough sleep and won't struggle as much to get up. Well it is something to try. On top of that I made morning as easy as possible, all I have to do is workout and I moved journaling to the evening. It seemed to work out quite well today. Had a great workout and then was super productive rest of the day.  Overall a great day.

@TheNewMe2.0Thanks, well each time you only compete against about 30 people within your group. But that was the second highest tier so people usually get quite a lot of ex, in other words spend a lot of time learning language. And it can be quite difficult to keep up with that unless you want to spent tons of time on it. Now I am in the top tier and I want to get #1 again for which there is an achievement too. But this one will be quite difficult.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

When do you normally go to bed? That's cool you have the ability to not have to use an alarm natural wake up is nice.

Getting #1 in the top tier is gonig to be a major challenge. I can only imagine the dedication and time commitment necessary to clinch that top spot. But if anyone can do it it's you. Good luck my friend.

Day 287

Habits:

  • Positive: (Running:97, Workout:98, Russian:178, Early morning:6)
  • Negative: (No gaming:57, No gaming videos: 27, No sugar:47, No takeaway:32)

Productive time: 10:18:00

I am not sure if I managed to reach 10 hours of productive time before but it felt great to do it today. I actually got over 10 yesterday as I was doing some russian after I wrote the journal but still. I really enjoy this style where I work out in the morning and then I am in the lab for most of the day and I once I am back home I can relax. Today was great overall though, workout in the morning, work during the day and then run in the evening. Although I still would like to get out of bed slightly earlier but I stayed up quite late last night so that's the trade off. I noticed that I need about 7 and a half hours to 8 to feel great for the whole day.

@TheNewMe2.0Thanks mate! It definitely will be, I won't be able to get this week but I will give it a try next one and hopefully get it. Once I get that then I can focus on progressing more with the lessons. As to win it is best to do practice on lessons that I have already done as they are faster to get xp.

Thank you for reading and I will see you tomorrow.

Sounds like you know what you're doing with the app. Good luck in your quest to be #1. It's quite the adventure. Your schedule sounds nice. Working out in the morning and running in the evening probably feels pretty good. Getting all that exercise is must be really good for chilling out. I'd like to get a walk and some workout in in a day too. It's so cold out lately though I always want to stay inside to avoid it. Oh well I can always push myself to do yoga instead.
