NEW VIDEO: The EASIEST Way to Stop Gaming

Quitting Gaming at last

I'm 32 and decided to quit gaming forever. I've been gaming since I've known myself and it has always been a big part of my life.

I've played anything from CS to FIFA and I always consider that this was my hobby and had no impact in my personal life.

But i've been wrong and now i can see how it took me to a very dark path creating distance between me and others isolating myself and hurting my family life.

I've had a daughter 4 months ago, and i now realize how much i need to change. So i've decided to quit cold turkey for 3 days now and i now this is the decision that can really improve my life.

I just hope that i have the courage and will to keep on the right path.

There is a beautiful world out there and i'm eager to take on it.

Hey man.

Congratulations on your daughter and I'm happy you took this commitment to be there for her - truly be there for her.

Kids are a great catalyst for change and I'm happy it helped you though.

I think you can do this long term (even if you might relapse) and we're here to support each other.

What mechanisms would you like to put in place to ensure you keep yourself on track for at least 90 days?

Hi Leo,

I removed all games from pc and smartphone, stored my ps4 at my parents home.

I have also found some activities to fill my needs:

- Cooking

- Learning Mandarin (quite challenging)

- Learning how to code

- Signed in Netflix (Watch some series to relax, something i stopped doing as gaming took more time in my life)

I haven't felt the urges so much since starting these activities, but before it was really hard. As a tennis fan i'm also keeping up with the US Open.

Thanks for the support and if you have any other ideas please share.

hey Congratulations on your daughter :)

what i realized here is that we gamers ( or ex gamers) we abuse gaming. we dont use it in right way . i also was addicted to league of legends. i quited compeletly for 1 week . the i reinstaled it and i play only 1 or 2 games in a day. takes less than 1h for me . i learned how to balanced gaming in my life . still i am managing to quite for ever.

the main idea is you replace good hobbys by playing games that you mentiond in last comment . you already know your path and what to do so i only can wish you luck in your way :)

Hey, many congrats on becoming a father and taking the steps to change for the better.

Can relate as I have played everything from FPS to sports too and and that thought of 'just one more'... is a killer

It sounds brilliant that you have found activities to fill the void - as this can be the hardest part - keep it going and who knows just how far you can go in these.

You got this and if you ever you waiver, just think of all the awesome time and things you and your daughter will do together in the real world and a how much happiness you will get that you made this decision.
