Day 6

Woke up extra earlier today. I need to read Stayfocusd instructions, last time I ended up blocking this forum for 10 hours, haha.

I was thinking about one of the streamers I used to watch and I felt slightly pissed off. Perhaps because he plays for a living.

During commute I saw a cybercafé of the MOBA League of Legends. Never played the game, but reminded me about the other MOBA I played.

Time to create the life of your dreams brother!

Day 7

I'm feeling pretty good. During the last three month I have been taking a medication called Valproate. It was prescribed by my doctor to help with depression and anxiety.

Valproate can help with Impulse control disorder (ICD)  perhaps it has been helping me with the Detox.

Three months ago I did diminish gaming, but I would still have binges. Cam's Detox tools are awesome.

Day 8

Today I had trouble waking up in the morning (stayed in bed an extra hour).

I have noticed that I am getting more conscious about time and schedules (there's only so much you can do in one day).

I get annoyed when my plans or schedule are changed however I do adapt.

I have been carrying a book when I go out, so I can read during commute or waiting an appointment.

Sometimes I think the MOBA I used to play was supposed to work like that as the matches were about 15 min.

I have been thinking that "The indiscriminate consumerism is inversely related to our self-realization"

Also because a post on reddit I have been thinking about moral and ethics of Cam and this forum, game developers industry and pornography industry.

It's good that you're aware about your schedules, it's worth it to plan things ahead to have time filled, in order to prevent gaming. Also, keep in mind that things will not go the way we planned it. So, spend an additional minute on your plan to make it elastic. I've also found better working for me planning more than I think I can do, because this makes me more productive, gives me more momentum and found out that free time makes me think about procrastination or even brings cravings. Keep up the good work.

Daniel, mate. I don't know if it applies, but I used to plan and project excessively. It turned out all my plans never left the planning stage and I kind of noticed I planned to procrastinate. Having a good plan sorted out is great, of course, but nothing beats the action.

Keep active!

Day 9

My badge is getting some length now. Spent some time at a blog who analyzes videogame industry. It's blocked now.

I know what you mean it has happened to me as well. I am being quite active. I do however need to organize my schedule.

It's normal to mess up your schedule for the first few times. I have had a bit of experience with it. My best advice is to allow changes in the schedule as it's very hard to set up good timings for the first time. Experiment different timings and activities, the schedule will get better and be easier to follow. No need to blame yourself if you can't follow!

Day 10

The detox is going well. I'm improving my diet, my workouts and my sleep.

Thanks for the feedback, only 80 more days to go!

Day 11

Yesterday was alright. Went to the gym in the morning and did some chores in the house.

Went downtown looking for a battery replacement for my Kindle Keyboard without luck.

Stopped at the townsquare to play some chess and pick up some books from the library. My passion for chess has been extinguished.

Day 12

Yesterday went to my cousins house and once again he asked me if I have "falled on the dark side" (played pokemon go). Truthfully I said no, no interested.

We have a small talk about the game and its fine by me, as I used to play the other versions when I was younger.

I ask him to work on his computer so I can test my kindle.

While doing that I converted and downloaded some pdf files and I noticed some pornographic images in his download carpet.

I felt disgusted. Makes no sense. I felt sad about him. I also thought about the people who sends nude selfies through whatsapp, just dumb.

I didn't mention anything about the porn to my cousin, or the fact that I am on a detox.

The whole pornography doesn't make sense at all. Built on the lowest instincts of human beings and the purpose it has is to destroy man and woman relationship...

That's the worst rolemodel man can get about relationships, but so many of them do it...

Anyways, good work on being non-conformist with Pokemon GO. Keep it up!

Greetings, Mad Pharmacist

Day 13

The cravings are rare and weak. I should mention that first week the cravings were more often.

Sometimes they were not cravings but memories. Mirror neurons would activate when watching other people play too.

I am more objective when I see people playing videogames. It's a business. Someone, somewhere is making money when people play that videogame.

And usually it's very young people who play it, or people with no defined goals.

I was wondering if the people at our group at gamequitters have a personality disorder or an addictive personality.

Random thoughts:

They make us grow as consumers
Awareness when doing non-goals related stuff
Thinking about giving up whatsapp in the future
