That's not stupid. I think it's actually a smart idea to focus on one thing at a time. Maybe I could try that too.

I really like the way you explained the “empty time” problem. I think that is one of the hardest parts people underestimate when quitting gaming.

It is not just about removing the game itself, it is about replacing that easy source of entertainment and reward with things that usually require more effort at the beginning.

Something I have noticed is that the first few times you choose the harder option (reading, learning, going outside, working on a skill, talking to people), it feels less rewarding than gaming because your brain is used to instant feedback. But over time those activities start becoming rewarding in their own way.

Also respect for the way you are focusing on identity, not just a streak. Saying “I don't identify as a gamer anymore” is probably a much stronger mindset than only counting days.

Keep going, your journal is a great reminder that quitting is not just about stopping something — it is about building a different life.

The words of this song by Tinie Tempeh and Eric Turner are something I felt like sharing with you

"Oh, written in the stars
A million miles away
A message to the main
Oh
Seasons come and go
But I will never change
And I'm on my way"

Let us keep going in this purposeless world, towards the purpose that we believe to be serving here.
Because although it is purposeless, that is exactly the thing that allows us to determine our own purpose and move towards it to the best of our abilities.

(Writing this with a combined feeling of great pain and gratefulness.)

Cheers! Which books did you read in the period?

Cheers n' Beers! I quite like autobiographies, especially rock musicians, I don't have much time to read per day but I read David Lee Roth's autobiography and Steven Tyler's!
