johnharless 1
Hi folks! I’m a freelancer but also a huge procrastinator. I can’t help but procrastinate and play mobile games while I'm supposed to focus on the job :/ I feel like I have been trying to distract myself though I know what I should have prioritized. Hopefully, I can get back on track and games can just be a pastime hobby.
Wildermyth 158
Hello! Nice to have you here. And I know the feeling all too well. For me it didn’t really work to compromise because gaming still took up a lot of my thought process and made me feel uneasy. Would it hurt to at least try to live without games for a couple of weeks to see how it unfolds?
sinirad 16
Hi there! I'm in the same boat as you. I also work as a freelancer and run my own business. Video games are the bane to independent work because unlike 9 to 5 jobs, we have to have the discipline to put in the time and get the work done. I also used to think in the back of my mind, that if I could just get my addiction in check, I could enjoy video games as a pastime hobby. After all, I know there are people who game casually and it isn't a problem for them, and even Elon Musk enjoys the occasional video game. But something I have realized for myself, is that I simply can't moderate, and my life is better off without it. There are people who can enjoy the occasional alcoholic drink, decadent cake, or night at the casino, and it seems to have no effect on them. And then there are others who have to completely abstain, and their lives are better off without it. Have you tried to imagine your life without video games?
