  3. Wow it's been almost a year since i started this journal. A lot of things have happened. For the most part, i didn't quit video games. But i started improving myself in basically every area of my life. I'm eating healthy, going to the gym, i've gotten more confident, etc. For the most part, my gaming is in moderation. It's still too much. The past weekends i've basically been gaming, going out less, and even skipped the gym a few times. I now just realised how it has been affecting me. But for the most part, i've held a gratitude journal, meditated and read 10 pages a day in a personal improvement book. It all started with Cam recommending to read "The Slight Edge". Well now i am ready to tackle this challenge once more. Day 1
  4. Hey Ben! I didn't realise there is a way to permanently teminate my steam account! Will do that ASAP. Sadly the kind of school i'm in doesn't have such possibilities. But i really want to look for some kind of sports to do outside school. Thank you for your words! A relapse is always chance to learn. First of all bro you went 4 months and relapsed one The glass isn't have full the glass is 90% full you did a great a job dude, amazing progress just get right back up. Cam how can someone delete their steam account I spent a ton of money on it and there is also the fear that I could always go back this isn't the first time I have quit gaming then went right back I quit for months at a time then went right back and binged so can you give me advise I'm afraid and I don't think I want to delete it. Yeah i think i should focus more on the things i achieved than i didn't achieve. But i will learn from this relapse. Thank you Koolman.
  5. Fuck. This weekend i fully relapsed. Today i spent all day playing video games. It started a few weeks ago, when i downloaded a simple quiz app to play with my friends in school. From there i played some more games on the web. Yesterday i installed steam, downloaded a game or two and then deleted it again. Today the same thing except i wasted 8 hours of my day. I have deleted any games app from my phone, and tomorrow i will delete steam once again, and will try to make my account even more unbreakable. On for 90 more days!
  6. Day 83 Damn! It's going bad with the challenges. I couldn't get myself to comliment a random girl. Anyways, at least it's going way better with morning habits, general habits etc. I just need to talk myself into doing a workout just after this post. Also, i can share the first artwork thingy, i had to texture an axe, here it is: I really like it and i'm proud of myself lol

I agree completely about happiness right now being the only thing that matters; in a billion years all your actions will have been forgotten anyways. I'm definitely not living in the present then, since I'm either depressed or anxious basically all the time. Does it count as living in the present even if you are far away in your own fictive universe? Funny that you mention the Slight Edge: I've already read that book twice, haha. But thanks for the recommendation anyways, it truly is excellent Your own fictive universe could be just another way to escape life, if you're truly "living" there. But who am i to judge Well that's great If i may ask, do you apply the slight edge in your life? I think I do. I have a quite a few habits that keep moving my life in a positive direction, but (as said in the book), they tend to feel so small and meaningless that they can't possibly matter, right? But I'll believe that they do, and keep doing them. My biggest slight edge-action would be my writing. Since I want to become an author the single most important thing for me to do is write, and that I do every day. Hence the fictive worlds-part. I'm sure sooner or later they will show their positive effects

But i was kinda chickening out as the challenge said i should ask strangers till one says yes Yeah it felt so fast! Definitely going to continue the detox
  10. Day 82 I kind of failed today's challenge. I was supposed to ask a stranger for a selfie, and upload it here. Well i went outside, walked along, and waited for the first person that was alone. Then i asked her if i could take a selfie but she declined After that i went home. At least i asked a stranger, that's basically what counts right? Well I'm up to more challenges
  11. Hey Simon, you're right with your thought, we are the result of pure chance. And at one point in time we humans will probably cease to exist, but there's nothing you can do about that. If you are at peace you are living in the present." -Lao Tzu Also i really recommend you to read "The Slight Edge", it's an excellent book about reaching everything in life you want.
  12. Day 81 When i read today's challenge i thought: Well fuck me. It was the following: Go to a café and when you buy a coffee ask for 10% off, and after that post in the journal how it went. I'm still kinda shy and don't like awkward situations but it actually went pretty good. First i had to drive like half an hour to go to the nearest Starbucks but i like riding my scooter so that was positive anyway. Me: A caramel macchiatio please. Barista: That makes 6,90$. Me: Can i have 10% off? Barista: Ah no, currently not. Me: Okay well then, thanks anyway. So yeah thats how it went, and after that i enjoyed the coffee. I've also been further learning blender, and i can show you something i had to do as an exercise in the program i'm learning with. It's literally nothing interesting at all, it's basically to learn making details in different bodies: Didn't learn much about lighting, rendering etc. lol

  15. The 5am part is the easiest for me because i already do that since a few months. Well except on weekends. Oh man i wish i could sleep that early. Most the tim i sleep betwee 10pm-11pm. I just gotta get more done in the morning haha.
  16. @Kiki I will surely post my work as soon as i made something one can look at I'm confident these things can and will happen Day 79 Today i want to create a successful morning habit. Part of it is already in place but there are still things that should be included. 1.Wake up at 5am 2.Meditate for 10 minutes 3.Shower 4.Make breakfast 5.Read a book The time is maybe a little tight but i will just wake up earlier if theres a time problem. Also i've successfully done the habits i've set 5 days ago everyday, like meditating, keeping a gratitude journal and doing pushups (+1) everyday. I can recommend adding habits to everyone it adds structure to your life.
  17. Day 78 I've just read the first chapter of 'The Slight Edge' and it's pretty inspirable but at the same time you understand it makes sense. The same little actions that got you from 'failure' to 'survival' are the same little actions that will take you from 'survival' to 'success'. Starting to put a few dollars in your savings account may feel insignificant and useless, but in a few years the leverage of this action will give you a huge return.
  18. Day 77 Today I've commited myself to a project to work on the next 30 days. I got really interested in Animation and 3D modelling, so i want to create a YouTube Channel where i'll share my work and upload tutorials for others to learn from. I'm pretty excited for this. Also I've done my own impossible list, a list of things i want to achieve one day, no matter how impossible they seem. 1. Travel to every country in the world 2. Run a marathon 3. Learn cooking a variety of meals 4. Meet Elon Musk 5. Learn a third language fluently 6. Own a motorcycle 7. Get politically involved 8. Start my own company 9. Get active in a sport 10. Go scuba diving once This is my impossible list. Do you guys also have one? I'd be interested to see what things are on your lists

That is a whole lot of days. Do you really want to sit around all day, on EACH one of these days? Do something productive with your life. Good Luck. I think people that don't know me perceive me as shy, and rather silent. People that know me don't think of me as shy, but maybe they think i don't want to be around them. I'd like to get perceived more open, and less shy by other people. The behaviours i'd like to change are: -My social skills -My use of free time -My openness to other people This was the first challenge. On to 29 more challenges!

  22. Day 70 Its been 35 days since the last post in here, well not much has happened. Mostly i was working, and going to school, so the cravings were practically nonexistent, but in the holidays last week i kind-of relapsed with web games. I won't let that drag me down. I've downloaded the app "LifeRPG" where you can add an habit you want to start and get points, with which you can reward yourself. Like Cam said in one of his videos, my goals aren't too high, currently i added these goals: 5 Push Ups a dayAn entry in the gratitude journal every dayReading for 10 minutes a daymeditating for 10 minutes a dayAnd challenging myself with shooting 10 unique photos this week.I'm confident that i'll do these things regularly.

    Did i relapse?

    Hey guys, Last few days haven't been going too well. To sum it up: Holidays -> Boredom -> Subbing to Netflix -> binging -> "fuck it" attitude -> playing web games and browsing reddit Like i realised i'm starting to try and fight my boredom in easy ways, especially binging and playing simple games. I haven't reached much in the last 10 weeks, the majority of the time i didn't waste gaming was wasted on Instagram, various news websites and recently started browsing reddit again, which i have stopped synchronous with gaming. Well i'm lost. I think i never truly left gaming, i just substituted it with other cheap dopamine producers. Greetings
  24. Day 35 Woah it's been over a month since i last played a game! Currently i'm going strong, but still surfing on the web all the time. Tomorrow my smartphone will be locked from 8:00 to 18:00. A whopping 10 hours! I didn't follow through with meditating and the gratitude journal, but i will try once more.
