  1. Yeah for the first month im gunna pretty much monitor my fat loss so i can adjust and amend as appropriate and yup I'm doing all those My mate is doing the Atkins diet and he lost around 6 or so stone...he has put it all back on and is now doing it again lol. Oh well I'm just going to keep to myself lose the weight and let my results show This is pretty much the only place that I'm announcing I'm losing fat.
  2. Lool love bro science Day 49 - Sore AF Crikey yesterday went quick! Yesterday I smashed the weights, cardio, Spanish and video editing. Unfortunately I didn't get round to any writing because: a) I was a lazy f!$k. b) A friend came round for like 2 hours when I was meant to do that said writing. All we talked about is what he can do to improve himself. c) I was Lethargic as f"£k from not eating. I was just pleased I managed to get at-least one piece of work done yesterday, but in hindsight I smashed all my personal goals so I'd rather have done that than business goals to be fair. Today will be just cardio, bit of Spanish learning and writing, so nothing too taxing lol. I weighed myself this morning and I lost another pound, i don't normally weight myself everyday but it's interesting to see how the body reacts to my new lifestyle. I wont become disheartened if i stay the same or put on though because i know it's not practical lose lose 1 pound every day! I actually wouldn't mind it staying the same for a few days because that means I'm losing the fat healthily. Anyhow I cant complain! Onwards and upwards!
  3. Welcome friend I understand your anxiety, I had agoraphobia so i understand your struggle to a degree. Considering you've overcome that obstacle in your life, use that big WIN to launch yourself onto other things. I used my own anxiety accomplishment to launch myself into a game detox, im doing fantastic in this now im on day 49 and feeling awesome. Now im kind of in a snowball effect with my personal win's and im now smashing my fat loss Its all a mind game! That's great you're into your music, focus on that and become the best you can be! Create lots of goals and smash those goals Then when you aren't playing your music...perhaps take up another language or learn the English language more in-depth? (this is taking into account your native language is German) All the best and stay strong
  4. Welcome mate and good job on realising how much games affect our lives. I was also an avid Wow gamer i spent 2 years just playing Wow and not going out. My advice would be to uninstall every game from your computer and get rid of your steam library etc. Then plan out 1 or two things you want to work on in the absence of games. For example learning a new language, exercise, work, join a team, gardening...there are many things you can do with he free time you now have on the weekends. Make short attainable goals throughout your detox and start a journal here to keep yourself accountable. Check out other people's journals to see how they go about there daily lives on detox. All the best!
  5. Welcome! I was also addicted to WoW lol i clocked in over a years worth of gameplay on all my characters...it's crazy! you're in the right place anyhow. IF you have the strength to quit smoking you can definitely do this game detox! Just keep your days busy and remember to start your journal as this helps a lot. All the best.
  6. Welcome Yeah as Cam said have you got some goals for after you finish your detox? You only have a 3 or so days to go, take it one day at a time and start deciding what you want your life to be after the detox.
  7. Welcome mate I think games have helped a lot of us here, but as you have realized we no longer need them anymore and they are just holding us back! Good job on starting your journey. My advice would be to keep your day's busy and start developing at-least one thing, for me it's another language, my mind and body. Remember to start your journal too as it helps out a lot! All the best!
  8. Sounds disgusting . Nice to hear that things go well for you. hehehe trust me if you were addicted to the sugar ones these are bliss! Day 48 - And The Strength Training Begins! I weighed myself in again today for the official Monday weigh-in and I lost another 1lb I'm even more motivated now to lose the fat! Also my copy (if some-what crap looking) of The 4-Hour Workweek came today...more fuel for my brain! Anyways Today I need to get quite a bit of work done and personal development stuff also. After I've wrote this, I'm going to lift some weights, go on the bike and start my working hours. It should be a really productive day. In regards to yesterday, it well well also. I spend the majority of the day relaxing lol...nice lazy Sunday! As explained in my game detox section...my weight loss has gone better than expected! I'm down 6 pounds which is like a pound a day lol. As long as the weight starts to slow down a bit now to 2-4 pounds a weeks I'll be good! I'm really excited for the future holds now, I've set a goal for myself to lose 50lbs by October (the exact date is up above). I need to exercise 5 times a week now and weight lift 3 times a week. I may increase this schedule depending on how my fat loss goes.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. Trying to find ways to make sure new members or members in need get the necessary support. The forum is growing (we had 7 new sign-ups today alone), and making sure in the very least, new members or important support emergencies have a bit of light is key. Blimey! Good to see the site growing dude.
  10. I love the new daily announcements...reminds me of a camp morning announcement haha.
  11. Thats great you have got your girlfriend to help you and drawing is a great thing to do! Yup i can concur with WorkInProgress haha, the longer you've been on your detox the more dreams you have...but instead of wanting to game you wake thinking crap i've just broke my detox! lool
  12. Welcome buddy and good job on reaching day 27! Can I ask why is it you don't want people knowing about you doing a game detox? I found it easier by telling people close to me and they supported me. It sounds like you are in the good groove now of not gaming so that's good The first 2-3 weeks are the hardest in my opinion and the rest just gets easier (that's if you are obviously improving yourself and keeping busy). Keep up the good work!
  13. Welcome mate! (I dare ask why you are called balls lmao) I think a lot of guys and girls here can relate to your motives on quitting games. Take it one day at a time and make sure you start you start a journal here, as that is a great way to keep track of your progress, feelings and ask for help off a lot of the others. All the best
  14. Day 47 - Had A Nightmare I sat down logged on my computer and played a game for the first time in 47 days last night! Then all of a sudden i felt extreme remorse and depression, why did I do this for! All those days spent on productivity and I failed on my 90 day detox! All of a sudden I awoke in a sweat and realized it was just a nightmare lol...damn I hate those dreams lol. Anyways detox is going well...my diet is going swell and my Language learning is going fantastic too. Nothing bad to report here Today I've done some planning for the week and for tomorrow agenda too. The rest of the down i will be just chilling and getting ready for the week, I may also do a bit of gardening. I don't get it so that means it's a 7 pound loss ? Anyone know math lol? This part of my personal development is going really well though. I've exercised 4 times this week I think and my diet has been spot on.
  15. Day 46 - Not Much To Say Really There isn't much to write about for today's entry to be honest. The detox is going well. My diet is going well and my language learning is going well. I plan to perhaps do a little bit of video editing and writing, but nothing too strenuous. Later on this evening we are going out with my parents for dinner, because they fly off on holiday tomorrow, but other than that nothing exciting. After writing this, im going to chill out and then hit the bike, then take a walk to the shop for some fruta! What I'm Grateful For: GravityOxygenMoneyToday's Agenda: Start Editing Monday's VideoMake a start on some form of writing taskLearn Spanish for 15 minutes (found out 45 minutes was too long for my style of learning)Exercise for 20 minutesFat Loss Section - Nearly A Week! Even though there isn't much to say, I will keep doing this section along with my game detox because it's good practice for etching a goal and mindset into my memory. I think this is why the gaming detox has worked so well, because I've spent at least 15 minutes each day just writing down my thoughts and actively thinking about what I need to do. Journal = such a powerful tool.
  16. Hi welcome to the forums friend! You're definitely in the right place to give up those vices of yours! If your struggling for hobbies or interests check out - http://gamequitters.com/hobby-ideas/ Also if you haven't already start your journal as this helps tremendously! All the best!
  17. Day 45 - Half Way Mark Achieved! The half way mark has arrived and I'm feeling pretty good! Yesterday I smashed my goals out of the park and completed them. Plus my diet is going awesome as well! Win, win win! Currently I'm around my parents and I'm scheduling today as a rest-day of sorts. I'm still going to do a little bit of work because I've brought my Chromebook with me and I'm also going to learn my Spanish, but in regards of solid work and exercise I'm not going to to be doing that. What I'm Grateful For: CarsFamilyComfy seatChromebookToday's Agenda: ChilloutLearn SpanishDo a little bit of writing.Write in this journalFat Loss Section - Day 5 Fat loss is going awesome! Simple as that I weighed myself today and I weigh 19.3 stone so that's 5 pounds lost in 5 days. Perhaps its a little fast...but I assume it's mostly water weight for the first week or so. Just going to keep what im doing consistent and have patience.
  18. Good job on starting your journal My favorite hobbies at the moment are: Bonsai TreesGardeningLearning SpanishIf you're struggling with your Japanese...check out http://www.memrise.com/courses/english/japanese-4/ All the best!
  19. Keep up the great work man! Not long to go now
  20. Holy crap that's a long article, i'll schedule to read that after i've done today work and stuff. Thanks Cam! Day 44 - Everything Going Well Yesterday went just as well as the previous days...now I just have to keep consistent with the great things things I'm doing and then in time they will ensure I become a stronger version of myself in every-way. The only thing I need to incorporate in the next week or so is weight training and perhaps upping my work productivity. I'll sum up below what I'm currently doing to acheive a stronger version of myself. Game Detox - Used to create more productive days, a clearer, more willpower and becoming at one with my emotions.Learning Spanish - Filling my brain with new knowledge and being able to broaden my communication abilities. (as well as the brain improvements)Exercise - Increasing my fitness and health.Intermittent Fasting - Increasing my health and losing fat.Ok so the above points are what I do constantly everyday in regards to personal development all I need to do now is add Weight Lifting and perhaps decide whether or not I want to add Meditation back in. Today I plan to do some writing, learn some more stuff and the other normal things I've outlaid. If it stays sunny I want to do more work in the garden. What I'm Grateful For: FoodWaterShelterMobile Phones (Cell phones)Today's Agenda: I've learnt Spanish for 15 minutes.I've exercised for 20 minutes and feel good.I've finished what I needed to do for work.I have completed some work in the garden. (optional depending on weather)
  21. Welcome Tony! Good job on taking the first step towards a better life, It may be hard in the first week or so, but stick in there and you will thank yourself! As WorkInProgress has suggested it would be good for you to start a journal to write you thoughts and feelings down. This way we can all encourage and help each other out. All the best
