  1. Thank you for sharing this. I have never heard this as a concern before and can see where you are coming from. Unfortunately if the current trajectory continues for another few decades, with women continuing to be more educated and employed than ever before, and men continuing to falter in those same regards, women as a group WILL be more competent. And therefore more hire-able. We are still very far away from that currently, but if the trend goes to such an extreme that is possibly the future.
  2. So you think men might lose jobs to women?
  3. Do you really believe men have to suffer though? I've always viewed feminism as women being recognized for rights, while maintaining mutual respect between the two sexes. If women have something like equal wages, do you think that it is bad for men? Or actually helpful, because within the family the man doesn't have to shoulder all the weight of earning?
  4. It's been a while since you posted, so hopefully things are going well. The first two weeks are THE WORST. It gets better after that.
  5. Most of the voices in media about feminism are female voices. I would like to hear from more men about this. Do you think they way feminism is being presented is fair? If not, what needs to change? Women are receiving progressively more attention and support. Women's earnings, education, etc are all increasing. In contrast, men in their 20's have high unemployment rates, and declining education levels. Additionally, men in their teens and 20's are also experiencing an unprecedented trend of erectile dysfunction as well as other sexual dysfunctions. Of course there is also video game addiction and pornography addiction. Feminism is not to be blamed, but the current disparity between the two sexes does suggest that men may not be receiving enough support. Do you agree or disagree? Feminism (at least my brand of it-- equality and mutual respect between the two sexes) is necessary progress and benefits both men and women. However, attacks on both men and women have been mounted in the name of feminism as well. I am curious about your thoughts.
  6. https://gamequitters.com/can-acupuncture-help-video-game-addiction-recovery/ Heres an article I wrote for GQ’s blog you can check out. It talks about how acupuncture is widely used in the Asian countries for video game addiction. And prior to that, for 40 years in the US for all other addictions. I am the first in the US for gaming addiction. It is very effective, especially for withdrawls and cravings, when quitting feels its worst.
  7. Stick to it. Medical school is about diligence and not about how smart you are innately. It sounds like you are working hard.
  8. Something that shows me I am doing what I am meant to do well. Lately it is when my patients feel better. Gaming used to give me a superficial type of achievement but no where near as fulfilling.
  9. Hey thanks for your questions! The blog is new so I will have to see. I assume it will lead to more traffic and more people coming in eventually. That is not the main goal though. The blog is there so I can do my part to help other gamers and their parents by putting my own experiences out there to share. Most of them will probably never pay for a service in my office.

  17. Third time is the charm... or whatever time it needs to be! Keep at it. For me it was the eighth.
  18. As a healthcare professional working with work related injuries and psycho emotional issues daily, I see burnout all the time. Unfortunately, preventing burnout is easier said than done, and comes with a lot of wisdom. The essential components are recognizing early signs, prioritizing self care, and stress management. Self care comes in many forms but generally it means getting enough sleep every night, good nutrition, drinking enough water, exercising, and learning were to set your boundaries with stress-producing sources (could be friends, work, family, etc.) People do improve their lifestyles, but with any habit change, it goes back and forth while on a general rate of improvement. So patience is key.
