NEW VIDEO: I Quit MMOs and THIS Happened

Serious doubts about NoFap

Recommended Posts

So as some of you may know I started nofap recently and I'm about 8 days in. No my balls haven't exploded or anything, I just don't know if this is necessary.

To put you guys in context, I was an excessive porn user and frequently got off to degenerate content. I am fully convinced that porn is fucking cancer and I'm not touching that shit again. But, I am also sceptical towards masturbation without porn because I think I might lose control again. And yet again, I don't want to have a wet dream every month and spaff all over my sheets. I have also looked into research suggesting infrequent ejaculation makes you 33% more likely to develop prostate cancer and I don't want that shit.

Should I go through with the 30 day no wanking to detox or should I feel free to bust a nut every now and again and if I return to my old habits I should stop?

I would appreciate it if any of you guys who have done nofap would give me some advice.

@Fagus Thanks for the advice. I have been reading up on sexual transmutation and one of the steps is not masturbating. So I think I'll focus on harnessing my libido. Every time I feel like jerking it I do something productive instead and then I wank later.

Yeah, that thing about prostate cancer is bullshit. Do you want to recover from your sex-related addiction or do you want to have a 0.20% chance to get prostate cancer instead of 0,25%? If you really care about not getting cancer, you should eat healthy, move out of the city, watch out what meds you take, and get screening when you hit 40 and 50. Does cancer risk reduction play any other part in your decision making? I don't think so either.

This is serious shit. Getting out of an addiction requires 100% commitment, and it requires you to do everything you can in order to recover. So if you think abstaining from masturbation might help you recover from porn addiction, then do that. If you think it doesn't help, then don't do that. Cancer risk is irrelevant next to something so important.

I personally try to abstain from masturbation because I tried that a couple of times and I would usually get chaser effect afterwards. But I used it once recently, when I had a strong urge for porn. I first waited 9 hours though.

Also, it's not like Maslow's pyramid is the ultimate revelation in terms of human psychology. It's just a theory, and one that doesn't make a lot of testable predictions as a matter of fact.

Ok just the studies for prostate cancer stated between 33-6% but you are right they did not take diet into account. I have gone without masturbation for a week before and then rubberbanded back to porn though so I think I will go easy on myself.

Or maybe it's completely unrelated, and you've only relapsed for some other reason? Maybe you weren't cautious, didn't plan ahead etc.? It's the same thing as gaming, only harder.

Also, from what I read, there is no connection between prostate cancer and masturbation. So yeah, that shows how conclusive the results are at the moment.

Oh my God, this topic has started and I didn't say the word of TRUTH? Shame on me!

Sex is part of the base of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

The biggest lie ever put to Maslow's hierarchy. This is an excuse and I'll explain it easily, proving it by science.

"The lowest" needs from Maslow's pyramid are these that our survival depends on them. In other words, you will die if you stop drinking, eating, sleep, breathing, maintain homeostasis or excretion, it's only the matter of time how long it will take.

However science proves, that nobody ever died due to the lack of sex or masturbation (which these two are obviously not the same!).

So, this is not a survival need. Obviously it is important to cohabitate to maintain the whole species. But you won't explode/become blue on your balls/face/get a prostate cancer etc. This is all bullshit and justification for people.

Ok I'll switch things up then. My no fap counter is now just for porn.

That's a mistake my friend.

Something that will make you weaken in social situation. You'll be just less likely to "achieve" one of the goals on your signature - finding a girlfriend.

And even if you find a girlfriend and will have a sexual relationship with her, by doing masturbation for a long period of time you will be focused on yourself (that's act full of egoism) instead of your sexual partner.

And that will hurt as hell once you will wake up from this state you're in right now.

The most important is to get your literally sexual energy into social interactions with people and especially woman, so this way you'll become a real man and will feel much better with it. Instead of getting this sexual energy out of your body.

About wet dreams - if you're not in stable sexual relationship, this should be a normal physiological reaction of your body to maintain the level of hormones and semen. However it was destroyed nowadays by wrenched from context sexual acts.

That's the brutal truth and nothing else. No excuses, no justifications. You can accept it or deny it. The choice is yours :)

Think about it and let me know what you think.

I do not have any need for masturbation aside from to stave off the inconvenience of spaffing all over my sheets.

This is just a natural automechanism projected by nature! I've learnt about that on physiology and nobody said there that the process of masturbation is needed when you don't have sex with real woman. It's not even HEALTHY for your body and especially mind.

I was once on workshops about determinants of woman's libido, and the expert haven't said anything about good sides of masturbation also for woman. So, in my point of view, this kind of behaviour is just wrenched from context.

About inconvenience of bed wetting - when you're not in sexual relationship with woman this is the sign that your reproductive system works properly and you didn't destroy all of your natural mechanisms that helps you feel bonded to other person. Be proud of yourself! Once you'll harness your sexuality more by redirecting your energy into other activities you'll experience it much less often.

Obviously, don't just believe in my words. Try it for 30 days and then reevaluate.

Another note on the energy thingy: You noticed that masturbation releases a lot of energy that could turn into stress if there is no valve to vent it. However, you will also realize, that after releasing this energy, you have less drive to do stuff. Satisfaction, gratification can actually kill motivation. So if you do it, try to keep an eye on why you do it and what happens afterwards. If you notice that you tend to become "lazy", expand the time between the events.

Masturbation seems related to games. I always feel like doing it after playing. So whenever I masturbate, I would want to play games and vice versa. When I stop doing both, it is easier than stopping one of them. And masturbating just makes it easier for me to watch porn.

"Jan. 27, 2009 -- Frequent masturbation in young men is linked to higher risk of early prostate cancer, but it lowers prostate cancer risk for men in their 50s, a study shows." http://www.webmd.com/prostate-cancer/news/20090127/masturbation-and-prostate-cancer-risk

Try eating these things and working out to reduce risk of prostate cancer: http://www.webmd.com/prostate-cancer/tc/prostate-cancer-prevention

Coffee and green tea also reduces risk of prostate cancer if you are ok with caffeine.

Hey guys,

I noticed that noFap and game compulsion are connected in some way.

I've seens a few other threads mentioning throwing in nofap while getting away from games. I wonder why this is the case,,,

As to be on topic with this thread, I do agree that porn really does mess with a lot of natural stuff. However masturbation in healthy doses is perfectly normal and is realitive to the individual. I'd say, no porn - no problem.

I also think that masturbation is healthy and normal, provided it occurs with regard to real people as well as in a realistic setting. Excessive use of porn is detrimental as it is often violent, unrealistic and misogynistic and thusly warps expectations towards a real partner. I've also read about cases where people lost interest in real humans as they focused too much on 2D or 3D depictions. I'd argue that moderation and a focus on a real partner are vital.

NoFap in itself is not a cure for underlying modes of behavior such as low self-esteem or anxiety. It increases aggression and testosterone, but still one needs to channel these in a right mode of behavior that is socially acceptable. I tried NoFap in connection with Monk-Mode, however I did not realize "transcendental" change in my life other than increased levels of aggression. I worked more intensely, sure, and I started to work-out more. It did not improve my social perception or success rate though. I'd say that one needs to improve in many areas (know-how, social skills, aesthetics, eloquence) in order to augment one's position. And that requires more effort than simply quitting masturbation.

Hi

Masturbation and porn do not fit in with my values. I have been abusing porn for too long and it has fucked with my brain. Masturbation just reinforces the bad habits of perturbed sexual fantasies that I don't want in my head! I have always had a fucked up imagination and  I have nothing against it but I don't want to give my self up to these ideas. I totally agree that masturbation is fine in that context but for me it's a straight up no given my situation right now.

Yes no fap works as more of a 'symbol' I think. Like hitler with the swastika, the catholic church with the cross, the ussr with the hammer and sickle, the satanic pentagram, the buddha. Symbols have psychological power. The essence of nofap is becoming a better man I think. And the abstaining from masturbation is just a motivational psychological booster. Like a placebo. The trouble is I know how it works though so it doesn't work on me as well! Fuck! I know I won't need nofap at some time and I won't need gq either- but- I need them both now to get stronger.

It's a greath that we have this topic here! Schwing, let's defeat this. I come from a 50-day streak that ended this month, and today is Day One for a new streak! Porn and masturbation are obviously related, and there is a taboo in society about masturbation, we're told that "this is normal, everyone is on it". Neuroscience shows that it's not as healthy as it seems. It's very, very harmful. Do you know all that dopamine stuff, reward system...?

When you watch porn or when you have an orgasm without sex (that is, masturbation), you release dopamine in your brain without effort. It dopes you in your capability of feeling, loving, caring, or being excited by small successes of your day, just like gaming. I am no professional in the area, so I can't tell you much, but I assure you that maintaining masturbation away from your life is worth it. Like, forever.

You'll need to channel your energy. But we are here for that, isn't it? Being healthier, active, not fapping zombies. We're even lacking testosterona there days, people are getting

I entered in this forum partially for this reason. Gaming leads me to fapping. With other people, that can happen the other way.

These sites are great about the subject, even if talking about pornography, that, as you might know, is an epidemic, and social problem today:

https://yourbrainonporn.com/

http://learn.ftnd.org/

Finally, if you're fighting porn, you may stop masturbating: Obviously masturbation will ask for pornography. We always want more, we need more and to things get "more real and extreme", if we're entering this. If you want a friend to fight this together, call me.

I track porn and fapping separately. It seems like I break down and fap once a week if I avoid the porn. Of course with the porn its 2-3 times a day.

I loved yourbrainonporn. It's where I learned about the withdrawal symptoms I was having, the sudden fear, anxiety, crying, and need for social contact. Made me feel so much less alone.
